But what's a "goog"? I did a job for an Aussie couple last week and I asked about "struth" (translation- 'Gods truth' or something like that) and they said it wasn't used much anymore. The US learned of it through Crocodile Dundee (late 80's) Another term I heard from an ex-Aussie gf was "full-of-beans" - being ready to go, energized.

I knew these things from reading gazillions of books and comics as a kid. But I didn't know a barbie was anything besides a doll until I worked with an Aussie in '92.

Nice! I picked up an RD at L&M yesterday. It had to be at least 12 lbs:bored:

I can believe that; I knew a 17 y/o with an RD 6 string in 1979, and it was a heavy sucker.
I worked on that guitar, trying to quiet the buzz. Nothing worked. I think he ended up trading it because of the buzz. We lost touch long ago.
The weird thing is, I spent a lot of time with that guitar. It was definitely an Explorer. But I can't find anything online about Gibson ever making an RD Explorer. While the Artist was somewhat Exploreresque, this wasn't an Artist; it had the full Explorer body. I wish I could find the pics. Anyone ever hear of such a beast?
This was several years after I quit doing drugs, so I wasn't hallucinating!

Get busy for a couple days, fall 600 posts behind. Sounds about right :)

Me too.
I went to Dallas (broke my Texas cherry) for a trade show - I've discovered that I'm completely capable of drinking at a Corporate level, sometimes needed in the Lighting Biz. I also found out quickly that I'd never survive there, the heat and humidity were off the &^%$*#@ chart.
Some of where I was.

I hate to break the news, but it ain't got hot yet.

Used to have an Aussie friend that used that term when he was three sheets to the wind.

Yes, works for food as well.
