Right! They're waiting for a project...and the Artecs from Fix..
That I did... good mojo...or the Count, that they (pups) came from an NR BaCH..
I started out playing bass with a pick. Then I started using my thumb. I've been working on using my fingers, but it's slow going. Part of that is just my fingers, but I would love to have a couple of resources to improve as much as possible as quickly as possible. And yes, I know it won't be overnight; I just feel like my progress is plodding through three feet deep, wet Georgia clay. It's better than being in quicksand, but that's all you can say for it.
I started with fingers - it feels completely natural. I can play with a thumb, but pick is what's tough. Funny how things work.I started out playing bass with a pick. Then I started using my thumb. Somewhere in Yorkshire. I didn't catch it entirely.Cute and ready?
And if so what's her address.
I hope this isn't the 4th time I've blind dated her indoors.Somewhere in Yorkshire. I didn't catch it entirely.
Haven't tried with a spade; I suspect I'm slightly better with two fingers, but only slightly. My 1st attempts at playing were with my thumb but after getting quite a large blister I started using 1 then 2 then 3 fingers. I can't play with a pick( or a spade) but I use my thumb n 1st finger as if I was. Just the pick, not the spade.

Continuing on my journey....
Thanks to the kindness of @Count Bassie, who provided a lightly played set of Bass Burners, I was able to try those out for a bit. They had a fat tone, and were freakishly even from string to string. Really warm and consistent sounding. I like them. Still, I was left wanting for more top-end definition.
I think the Dunlop Super Bright SS got me most of the way there, but not quite gutsy enough in the lower mids. So I rolled the dice on a set of RS66LF. The last couple of Roto sets I tried were real duds as compared to my nostalgic memories of growing up on them.
Three gigs on those this past weekend and I’m glad they weren’t duds. I’m liking them again. I think my pickups are suppressing some of the zing I’m looking for, but the strings certainly do have balls.
I’m working on subtle EQ adjustment on the amp now. I think the consensus here is that the EQ really needs to be set differently for TBirds vs 7enders, but I’ve been stubbornly (stupidly?) resisting that.
So thank you all for your continued guidance and support as I find my way through TBird-land. Here’s a gratuitous TBird pic from Sat night. I think we were doing “Working Man” at this point.Rotos in their full glory.

I started with one finger. And stumbled a bit trying two fingers. I spent some time thinking about it - do I want to be like Geddy and remain a 1 finger player (but doing up and down strokes) or do I want to go 2 fingers. I decided that 2 fingers was going to be more flexible and them made appoint of ALWAYS using two fingers and it eventually became natural. I learned to type the same way.I started with fingers - it feels completely natural. I can play with a thumb, but pick is what's tough. Funny how things work.
