Thunderbird Club

This club is ace. The best part is all the pics of your glorious 'Birds and all the projects being worked on. And of course the witty banter!

I really enjoy the world wide participation as well ( Commonwealthers, lots of you here!) it's amazing to me how we all share this common love for an instrument. In the dark years before the internet I always thought I was the only one that loved Thunderbirds, it's good to know you're not alone!

So I just spoke with a really nice customer service rep at Gibson and my 2014 Gibson T-Bird number
140083xxx shipped from Nashville plant on June 20,2014. He said that it is a sequential numbering system for all production models. Starting with 14001 and up! Idk if this will ever help anyone else, but it's kinda cool to get an approximation of when it was built.

The Guitar Dater Project - Gibson Serial Number Decoder <---- This works too! Try it!

I have a couple

(Ducks, looks to see if clear)

I don't understand the pissing match over 2 brands of the same flavor.
I own a Gibson and a Fender
I own a Epiphone and 3 Squiers.

Who cares what brand it is if you're a jerk. You're still a jerk.

Why do I go out in general population?

I have a couple as well. No tort and one is even Antigua!
I like the series parallel mod- makes them sound more like a bass IMO.

Cool I would be interested to know
1. Does the serial dater work on yours.
2. What area is your # 80,000,90,000 etc.
wondering if they make basses all year or certain models certain months or just as demand dictates?

The next time I get it out, I'll record the number and look it up. It's put away for now and ready to ship if I ever get around to putting up an ad for her.

Yup.

I thought I wanted one... o_O

I'm gassing hard for an SG styled bass atm. Too bad I've got no money right now. At least I got screws today to tie down my Pro's neck pu again.

Btw guy at the store said he can't order Epis, because they have to order at the beginning of the year and won't ship further instruments later on.

Hope Amazon still has the EB3 in stock when I got some spare money.
