Thunderbird Club

Note to one self:

Think twice before throwing off a rant about 7ender Jazz basses next time I feel like it... :speechless::speechless::speechless:

We're all friends here so don't worry Michael :)

Thunderbirds and Single Malt. Life is good!

I love Bowmore 12 year.............drool

If you come for a visit we can go visit Scotch & Vine, it's just down the street, they have 200 different Single Malt Scotches! Where's my stunt liver!

I gotta make the time! It sounds like the best bad idea possible. My favorite is Glen Morangie Quinta Ruban. But that preference has to be tested regularly, or it gets too settled.

It's been awhile since I posted something here.

Just wanted to post my epiphone blackbird.

Couple of things I have done to it:
- Put in a 3way switch.
- New tuners modified tuners (the old ones eat themselves up for the inside)
- Disconnected one of the coils in both pickups, making them both single coils.
(little bit fiddly but I found out that the black epoxy on the bottom is easily broken free from the plastic housing with out breaking the housing.
After this the pickup can be removed.
- Added a pickup cover.
- And the rest is natural relicing

In the vein of this post a New Bird Day for me:

I'll put in a 3-way switch, too, but it'll be a substitude for the 2 way that it came with. It will be a neck, neck+bridge, kill selector. Thinking about putting in other PUs, but honestly I don't wanna route it. Scratchplate will go. Will get either this colour:

or that

If we are talking malts you may appreciate this... Last October I spent some time in Islay on a whisky trip... Beautiful place, great people and gorgeous malts!!!

From down in the for sale section. He says it should go to a good home.

For Sale - 1979 Gibson Thunderbird

All I know is what's in the postings, but it's pretty exotic looking to me. Especially if that's a factory color. Purple lined case? oooooWEEEE! That's almost as good as pink!

At 1850.00 he's giving that bass away, if he took the PG off I wouldn't be surprised to see Tom Pettereson's sig on the backside. I hope someone here gets it.

Had my first practice with the Band tonight in the new bass! We have been together 10 years so they notice different sounds from me and my bass! They love the sound and so do I. It plays so well! So a question, it seems to have a very good factory setup. Does that have to do with the PLEK system they used on it? I have not had a factory setup that I have ever been happy with. Is that to be expected with an expensive USA Gibson? If so it makes me feel good about the purchase! Bottom line I love this thing and the tonal changes I can get out of it.
