I was thinking the exact same thing...

No pup expert, but physically speaking higher impedance is directly linked to higher frequency(for coils that is - caps are the opposite way). So I guess if you put higher impedance in the neck position you get a more balanced sound than 50/50 and if you put it into the bridge position you'll get even more highs.

fretboard sides red like a binding? Sounds nice.

Pretty much, since the whole bass is red & black, i'm contrasting between everything really. THe face of the fretboard is stained black & the neck itself is going to be satin black, so im dividing both black areas with a thin red line :P it's a killer looking bass, really after 5 years of having it, it's gone through extensive aesthetic mods as well as gutted electronics, & right now, it's the final form of it. Can't wait to have it back again :D haven't played it since my halloween gig cause i had taken it apart few days after that show

The saga of my long awaited set of Hong Kongbuckers continues.
I ordered a set of 8Ks on 12/12/ 15 through eBay (the 9.2 weren't available- that is how long this has been going), they were marked sent on 14/12/15. Delivery due between 1/1/16 and 8/1/16.
I waited till 14/1/16 in view of Xmas and some industrial action at Customs in Australia.
I messaged them on 14/1/16- Eric replied that day that they had fallen foul of the magnetic issue with China Post and had just been returned. He told me they had just resent them and gave me a new tracking number.
The tracking still shows them as being in China, but I thought "no big deal". I waited till today allowing a fortnight and messaged again asking them to follow up.
Eric replied promptly that China Post advised that they are caught up in the snow storms in the USA and hadn't been scanned into the USA because the planes haven't been unloaded, but that all would be good once the weather improves in the US.
I have just messaged them back that I am very concerned to hear that they are held up in the USA, given that I am in Australia, as is clearly shown in the shipping details of the order. I have asked them to definitely confirm for me that the parcel has been sent to the correct address and, if not, to arrange for a set to get to me urgently.
:roflmao:

All my stands (and wall hooks and multi guitar floor racks) are Hercules brand. Not the cheapest choice out there but by far the best built and least reactive to nitro finishes. They have a stand for every occasion...
Hercules Guitar Stand GS455B
These are captive stands which eliminate he possibility of the bass being knocked off the stand. You have to lift the bass up vertically for the captive yoke to unlock then the bass is free to be removed.
What do you mean by "least reactive to nitro finishes"?

So i picked up the Silverburst Epi T-bird and the tone has potential. It's not heavy at all and is a pretty well made bass. I think i'm set on the japanese humbuckers now.My biggest issue I can't get the action as low as i like with the current 3 point bridge. Would upgrading to the supertone help with this issue? Is there a better alternative?
Not sure which is better but Babicz also makes a replacement bridge for 3-points
