There are basses, and there are Thunderbirds!
They are guitar pickups, at least according to Uwe on LBO. I thought the routs were the same regardless as the guitar sized pickups have a trim ring.
Oh yeah - They are much shorter in lenght...

I was thinking the exact same thing...
No pup expert, but physically speaking higher impedance is directly linked to higher frequency(for coils that is - caps are the opposite way). So I guess if you put higher impedance in the neck position you get a more balanced sound than 50/50 and if you put it into the bridge position you'll get even more highs.
Fretboard has been radiused, stained black, frets inserted, fretboard sides painted red, & side dots painted. It's almost ready for a full paint which will probably happen next monday! Pictures later
fretboard sides red like a binding? Sounds nice.

Thanks!

What do you mean by "least reactive to nitro finishes"?All my stands (and wall hooks and multi guitar floor racks) are Hercules brand. Not the cheapest choice out there but by far the best built and least reactive to nitro finishes. They have a stand for every occasion...
Hercules Guitar Stand GS455B
These are captive stands which eliminate he possibility of the bass being knocked off the stand. You have to lift the bass up vertically for the captive yoke to unlock then the bass is free to be removed.
Hehe, yeah, sometimes nitro gets hot and sweaty then sticks to stuff. Certain materials contain oils or chemicals that react with the nitro and cause it to get "sticky"What do you mean by "least reactive to nitro finishes"?
The limited edition birds do seem to appreciate a bit with time, so they are better than money in the bank as long as I don't drop them (and I may). I still regret letting a chance at a '64 (for $2K) pass me by about 15 years ago.I saw a mint shortscale pop up on the bay yesterday, so I snatched it like a kung fu grasshopper.![]()
Not sure which is better but Babicz also makes a replacement bridge for 3-pointsSo i picked up the Silverburst Epi T-bird and the tone has potential. It's not heavy at all and is a pretty well made bass. I think i'm set on the japanese humbuckers now.My biggest issue I can't get the action as low as i like with the current 3 point bridge. Would upgrading to the supertone help with this issue? Is there a better alternative?
Yep I just tried to buy more and got seller is on vacationBabicaz makes a great bridge. It looks better than the hipshot too.
Went to go place my pickup order and the seller is gone to till the 12th :/
