What do you mean by "least reactive to nitro finishes"?
Looked at their site, they have a none hanging stand, too, which is cool, but there's still a nitro disclaimer.
Nitro finishes on basses are a potential problem with any rubber/foam product. Because of that you'll see a disclaimer by many guitar hanger and stand manufacturers. I'm no chemical expert but as I understand it, basically the foam, if held in contact with the nitro finish for extended periods can cause the nitro finish to become tacky and essentially weld itself to the foam.

I've seen the damage first hand at a friends house where the paint on a guitar body stuck to the stand at the contact points. When the guitar was lifted off the stand the paint came off the bass and left two holes the size of a quarter in the finish all the way to the wood - not a pretty sight. Fortunately the instrument wasn't mine, but my buddy was pretty broken up about it. I also had one of my basses in a Stage Hand brand stand for a couple of weeks and one day when I played it I noticed the paint felt a little tacky in a coupe of spots where the body had contacted the foam. I threw that stand out and switched to Hercules brand and haven't had any problem since.

There appears to be two variables in the equation - some foam compounds are less aggressive than others and nitro finishes have an exceptionally long cure time. I personally wouldn't ever place a nitro finished instrument in any foam equipped stand if the finish was less than a year old. Likewise I don't have any concerns using my Hercules stands for nitro basses more than a year old. The bass that had the reaction with the Stage Hands stand was about 3 years old (it was fine with the Hercules stand).

Disclaimer - YMMV.

Okay, so not a 'Bird (it's cool, I'm a proven member) but here's my latest acquisition. I have wanted one of these for a very long time. 2014 Gibson Memphis ES 335 Studio in Ebony (or as I like to call it "None more Black"). I'm a proud papa! Also, that's my cat Charley there in the photo. He also loves Gibsons.

That's a pretty nice guitar! :)

I got a new in box bass sent to me from Pennsylvania, set up was fantastic out of the box. Within a week, had to tighten the truss rod 1/3 of a turn.
Pretty normal for here, but I don't think a lot of stores adjust them after they get here.

Not totally uncommon to have a 1/4" or higher action on those basses. Not sure who plays that high, but I can't
I have sometimes played a bass with action that high at the 12th fret. It's not my preference, of course, but it is certainly doable. The upright's action is probably higher than that, but I haven't ever measured it. It's a different tool for a different purpose, so it's not entirely comparable. That said, it is probably why I don't mind high action that much.

So i picked up the Silverburst Epi T-bird and the tone has potential. It's not heavy at all and is a pretty well made bass. I think i'm set on the japanese humbuckers now.My biggest issue I can't get the action as low as i like with the current 3 point bridge. Would upgrading to the supertone help with this issue? Is there a better alternative?
I personally like Babicz bridges. They are a bit more expensive, but they are adjustable in just about every possible way and once you set them up, that's pretty much it. I'm also used to adjusting them and setting them up, so you may get a different answer from people who have lots of experience with something else.

I can see that. I'm currently looking at machining the original bridge on my Epi 7enderbird, and sinking the inserts flush with the body. Maintaining the look, but lowering the action.

Currently using a Squier bridge and a 3/16" neck shim

At 1850.00 he's giving that bass away, if he took the PG off I wouldn't be surprised to see Tom Pettereson's sig on the backside. I hope someone here gets it.
I would love to buy it, but my Thunderbird expenditures have been a little beyond my budget for the time being. Plus I had to spend money on stuff I need for the day job. Darn day job gets in the way of a lot of things that are far better and more important!

Sad news today. R.I.P. Jimmy Bain.

RIP Jimmy Bain. I was just reading the news about Paul Kantner in another thread, and when I scrolled down it made mention of Jimmy, which I HADN'T heard. Very sad news. Rainbow On Stage is one of my favorite albums of all time and Jimmy's bass work is stellar on every track. Gone, but never forgotten...again, RIP Jimmy.

So I have the '14 T bird and looking at the bridge I can't help but think I like the babicz better. More contact with the body, right? Will it Mar the finish? Since its on the '15 model it's basically a stock oem if you will piece! I've read the posts I think I have gathered it is better as far as adjustability so if I get these two questions answered I may pull the trigger.

I have the Bab bridge on my new EB and it's fantastic. Best sustain of any bass I've ever owned. That said I don't think I'd ever put one on my Gibson Bird, it's like trying to fix something that isn't broken. Besides it will absolutely imprint the area under the bridge. Permanently damaging the asthetics of a bass isn't something I'd consider doing if I thought there would ever be any potential to revert to stock. But that's just me.

I have the Hipshot Supertone on my 2001 ebony Bird and had one on my RD reissue (Novoselic model). I like the bridge a LOT and like how it gets the action as low as I want it. The looks/size don't bother me at all. Not the prettiest thing but then, neither am I. It will leave an impression on the body but my 2001 has a headstock repair so I'm not worried about the imprint hurting the value. I understand that thought process tho and would not install it on my 50th Anniversary Bird.
