I remember SRV's work on Bowie's Let's Dance album, and being way impressed. After he became a big star on his own stage I was less so.

It wasn't that I didn't like his playing, but now that sound was no longer trapped in a specific context, and relied only on itself as the attraction. I find it difficult to be engaged with virtuosity on its own merit, and his songwriting was just a vehicle for his guitar prowess.

Great player, fun to watch him in a good band, but I still see him as just a part of something and not a sensation, per se.

I may just bore easily.

(shrugs) It's all a matter of taste, and we each have our own. You're wrong, but that's OK.

I love guitar-driven rock of most forms, but especially blues-based. Stevie was a force of nature in this genre, and his insane guitar abilities paired perfectly with his voice. There's plenty of music out there that I don't care for, but that I can appreciate for the player's capabilities. There's some amazing jazz, for instance, that leaves me cold.

What little I can see of the driver says the shell isn't all that important. Dunno what she's looking at.

I don't remember the last time I used an umbrella. The right hat makes an umbrella irrelevant. Come to think of it, I don't remember the last time I even saw an umbrella being used in Seattle. It was probably a tourist.

I see people using umbrellas for the sun (during dry season) around here
