Thunderbird Club

Thunderbird alert:

Excellent! They were a favorite out here, part of the Beserkley stable that included the Greg Kihn Band. Saw them as an opener for someone, can’t for the life of me remember who. I don’t recall the bird, but could’ve been I was a bit too, well, inebriated. They should’ve been bigger. The NoCal scene was rocking a lot harder than SoCal in those days.

I’ll leave it to Vee to post his favorite Easybeats version. I always liked this versio:

yeah, but they'll turn it around and tell you they just opened the door to the new industry of "elevated cycle starter motors"...IMO it's major lawsuits waiting to happen....picture a scenario where the passengers are in a situation of danger that could be avoided by a car that simply "drives away" but doesn't due to a software bug...
Mine is currently getting really good(average) mpg. It's gone over 80 miles and hasn't burned a drop.

If we are worried about pollution (and there is a good argument that we should be) from automobiles, the best improvement in pollution control comes from improved fuel efficiency. All the other bells and whistles for pollution control add weight to the vehicle and may or may not have a real effect on pollution under driving conditions (as opposed to rolling road test conditions).

We knew a couple who bought an early Prius for the husband's daily 35 mile one way commute. No one explained to them that each time he stopped so did the AC. Not good in South Florida.

true....EPA standards are placing such constraints on aerodynamic coefficients that all cars are starting to look alike....time for electric....they speak the same language as the CPUs that drive them but even then...batts have to charge somehow..

I'm sure the spent litihum batteries will be easy to dispose of...

Remember when you could be 1/2 a block away and easily differentiate between a 55 and 56 ford or Mercury? Or any of the 5 GM cars? Now at 1/2 a block, ya can't tell anything: "Uhhh...it's blue?"

With all the B.S. surrounding my new van, I forgot to post this yestiddy:

I dropped some SSB-4's soap bars in my Korean epi-bird. They are fairly mild, but less muddy than the epi's and they dropped right in, being a bit smaller than the epi's . A couple of rings would make them look better, I think.
I put some tape wounds on it and brought it to audition for a "steely dan" tribute band because it was the brightest, funkiest bass I had. They were surprised some dude with a t-bird showed up and seemed to dig it but they waited way too long to callback so I learned "peg" and "hey 19" for nothing, LOL. By the time they called back I was busy, but then they bugged me for a few months, LOL.
I did a tab for hey 19 here:
Steely Dan - Hey Nineteen (Bass)

Here is a dude I watched b4 buying them...

Michael Brecker used an NR II when recording “Pretzel Logic”...
