Nah, that is the definition. if it weren’t for bad luck I’d have no luck at all!
Same
Also a friend who is starting a media company, shot a "documentary style video" while we recorded a couple of songs recently. He is building up his portfolio in hopes to attract additional clients. Hope we don't end up chasing them away!

You guys make the most of a minimal approach. Really great!

Can I join? I picked up this Epi as an inexpensive backup and I'm liking it way more than I thought I would. Mods so far:
  • Added additional strap buttons to compensate for neck dive.
  • Removed the truss rod cover because it was warped. The headstock looked plain without it so I put an eagle inlay sticker on it.
  • Didn't like the white pickguard. Intended to replace it with black but discovered that the wood underneath looks really nice, so going with no pickguard.
  • Did not like the 3-point bridge. Replaced it with a hipshot supertone.
  • Put on a hipshot extender because I do that with all of my basses.
  • Replaced the knobs with jazz bass knobs.
Thinking about changing the pickups. They're ok but not great. Any suggestions?

Please do be welcome here with us, I'll bring the list forward shortly - Happy to have you along!

Is that the bolt-on Epi? If so, personally I'd look at a p'up change, if you're into throwing down... there are some here who'll recommend from a list of oft-talked about replacements.
But that's a good looking Bird! Welcome to the camp!
Thanks. Yeah it's a bolt-on. It plays a lot nicer than it has a right to for what I payed for it. I'll spend more on mods than the initial cost. But I like to personalize anyway.

Mine broke in slow motion like a Hollywood car crash. A high heel caught the cord, the guitar stand did a 45 degree spin and I watched from about 10 feet away. The sound was not unlike that of a 0.22 rifle. In the early days of this group I think someone said they had a 60's break in the case on it's own. I think something bad probably happened earlier and then the string tension finished to job. Yeah, bringing an unbroken 60's or 70's out gigging takes nerves of steel. Those stands that hang your guitars are probably better than the ones where they rest on the bottom.
Never leave your bass plugged in on the stand! Always some dumbass around to trip on it.
