Thunderbird Club

So the 116 lbs was NOT a typo!
for reference, an SVT top weighs 97 lbs....and has a preamp.....the Mac is just a power amp....this weight diff points at the superior bandwidth and overall audio quality of the Mac...which was really meant as a reference lab amp, not a musical instrument amp......more is better though..

Sorry, no idea. I have a Gibson. gidbass above recommended one. As long as you can return it, I think the Gator is worth a try. It's an excellent soft case. I prefer it to the MONOs.
I had a brain cramp - there's a big difference between a CP and a VP, but I get them crossed up. A Classic Pro is the one that's essentially a modern Gibson, only made in Asia and with a poly finish instead of a nitro finish. A Vintage Pro has a bigger headstock and is just flat longer. I stick with saying you would have to work at it to go wrong with either one. There are enough people around here with Vintage Pros that eventually somebody will pop in with several ideas. The gig bag that was already mentioned may be the most likely option.

Always. Why?

Someone gave a three star review claiming the shoulder straps just ripped off after using it a couple of times, which I find ludicrous on a Gator unless they're really abusing it, like running military-style obstacle courses or parkour while wearing it, probably without the straps being tight. Enough jumps off a 3-5 foot wall with a heavy bird and 10 pounds of other stuff might do it, but...

Yeah, that's weird. I've had the ProGo for many years and it's as stable as ever. People are idiots. Maybe try contacting the company? Gator would replace it in a second. I highly doubt they'd have the same problem twice.

That was my thought, too- assuming it wasn't abuse. Or another bag altogether.

Wow. Besides the Thunderbird itself, Tom's mic stand is out of control, and the bass line is excellent.

That song got so overplayed that I tended to tune it out after awhile - but re-listening to it now you are quite right about the bass-line. A well crafted bass-line really is what it's all about. Match that with great tone and you have a bass signature that helps make a song classic.

FWIW, I have the Gator Pro as well and have been using it heavily for 2 years with a 2014 T-Bird. Works great and no issues.
I have a Gator backpack that was originally intended for DJ gear. I got it to haul music stuff, but it ended up being my motorcycle commuting backpack. It started out with a frayed handle in the middle between the shoulder straps. I didn't think much about that and didn't bother to ask Sweetwater to replace it. They would have, but it didn't much matter. Now, about five years later and having used it for all kinds of things, the frayed handle is still there and functional. It's getting to the point that it might fail, but the rest of it is completely functional. I'm pretty sure it would take a couple of bulldozers operated by the Rotten Kid in opposite directions to pull the shoulder straps off. Ten years from now, I expect to be using it. So, I wouldn't hesitate to use a Gator anything.
