OK, here's some better pics of the G3.

I really, really like the G-3 reissue - I should own one!
Lovely bass, congratulations!

With two volumes, do you use a volume pedal or some form of mute for live use? I'm not smart or coordinated enough to roll off two volume knobs; I can sometimes manage one.
On most basses I'm only using one pickup at a time.

I'll see how it works on my t-bird when it's finally back from the shop (been waiting for the rotary selector switch).

Tooks some pics of my 08 Gibson while I had the camera out.
Chrome Grover tuners- same style as come standard. Never had any trouble with the black ones that came on the bass, so thought I would go with these rather than mini clovers, which I couldn't find in Oz.
Chrome Gibson Three Point Bridge.
Strap locks.
66 Replica EY Pickups with chrome covers and rings- 9.5K
Sounds and plays as good as she looks.

That instantly takes on a classic apperance with the chrome parts - Well done!

That is a really good question. The Grovers and the bridges come in chrome versions.
Exactly. The tuners are made in chrome as well, and I know that other Gibson basses have chrome 3-point bridges. And they make covered versions of some of their other pickups. Why no chrome for the T-bird? It looks so cool.

I see that the moderators have wiped out the troll thread..........

Like it was never there.

I hadn't looked until just now..........I see that the individual responsible for that thread has been banned ( don't know if it's permanent or 30 day), so bravo to those that posted in the best fashion of the club.

The answer is........

Henry J. (owns Gibson) is a moron.
How unfortunate.

Personally on the sunburst models, the chrome would look so much cooler. Even paying extra for it would be a good option to have. I'll probably eventually upgrade to chrome.

While I like how the black hardware looks on the white t-birds, I think that chrome also looks amazing.

Back '89 when I bought my white Bird I was simply thrilled to even find a Thunderbird in Seattle, there weren't many shops that even had Gibson basses here. I didn't like the black hardware nearly as much as chrome but that didn't stop me from buying it!

For mutes, I use a footswitch which activates the mute function on my rack-tuner in between songs and instrument changes...

Otherwise volume changes are handled by the software that run my band's performances or our keyboard player who controls the software (Apple Mainstage) live on stage with his remote keyboard - He also adds effects when needed...

That works for me... How do you like the chinabuckers compared to the original one?
