Oh, thanks. I was looking for one that can fold up for me to stick in my bag and such. In NYC we usually go to hourly rehearsal spaces, not our own space where we can leave our stuff.

Yeah, but if it was on the inside, I wouldn't have to bother at all.It might be tougher to clean up if the writing is on the inside. On the outside, the luthier might be more able to carefully sand or scrape off the marker before applying a top coat to even out the finish.
I'm using a triple stand that has the neck latching thing. I don't know what else to call it. It looks like this and folds up:

Hercules all the way. I got stupid lucky one day and found a single on Craigslist for $15 bucks! Is it to short? No way. Wierd body shape? No problem. Portable? Absolutely yes.Any recommendations for portable stands for the Thunderbird? I need this for rehearsal spaces and gigs. The Axe-Handler stings-out version looks like it would be great, and fit easily in my case, but I'd be worried doing this on hard floors. Rehearsal spaces usually have carpet.

Found this at a pawn shop yesterday priced at 100$. Messaged offering 60$. Went to see it today, after much debate on weather i should get it or not, they gave me a 7 day trial & let me have it for 50$. If i don't like it, i can bring it back & have 50$ credit in store. But man, i was really scared about lots of things going wrong at my place ( i plugged it into my carlsbro hornet 45 combo that's now just the speaker connected to a 1/4 jack 1x12 speaker) & i gotta say: I love the 70's! the tone is massive, clear & very nice. HTe jack for the footswitch is gone, but i don't really care for it since i got my mxr m80 which has distortion & clean in it so i can bounce back & forth. But there's hardly any info on this as to how many watts it hass, but it's loud, only put it up to 1-2 n volume & it blows away everything! The distortion is really nice too, very clear & agressive bite to the instruments. Gonna play it this week some more to get accustomed to it more & see if i wanna keep it. I'm leaning towards yesAm also going to check out a 90's SWR goliath 4x10 cab being sold for 160$. It'll be cool to have since i'm always looking for a 4x10 (& is what i prefer to have live) & it's pretty much a steal at 160$ in good condition
Thanks, all, for the stand recommendations. I'm sure they're great, but even though they fold up, I would still find them too much to carry around public transportation along with my bass. And they certainly wouldn't fit in the bass bag pocket.
Here's one to watch!
"This Thunderbird is in like new condition and plays like a dream with very low action. Sustain and growl for days with absolutely no fret buzz! Features the USA made Gibson TB humbucker pickups. Ships inside a brand new Philz gig bag (50.00 value), and includes a set of the new Dean Markley Helix bass Strings (22.00 value)
Contact me with any questions. Thanks!"

I bet they'd fit in a photographer's tripod bag that could be slung over your shoulder.

SCORE!
Cool piece of retro gear...
Love the simplicity of the controls too...![]()
I had one of these that came with a matching 115 cab. It was from 1974 and came from the original owner. Got the pair for $50! Great little amp and pretty loud too! I think on the back near the speaker jack it says 60 watts. Way louder than that though. I kept it for a while as a practice amp and was never disappointed. I sold it to fund other gear, but it was cool to have.
