Thunderbird Club

Good guess, about 20 miles further north east on the coast.
Originally from Leeds.
Ha! I’ll hit you up for a beer if I ever get there. I found an address for her at her birth. Not that nice looking area... :rollno: very industrial. But I’m told more Hull FC than KR.
My other English migrant ancestors (3 total), one from Manchester (sentenced at Salford), so both sides of the War of the Roses) or just a chip on both shoulders ; and Hammersmith.

Hull and Liverpool used to be 2 of the UK's biggest ports with cheap back to back terraced housing for all the dock workers, not needed now due to mechanisation. Both have been, rebuilt, to support todays commerce.
The village I live in now is smaller than the estate I used to live on in Leeds.

I was just thinking of asking you about your Hiwatts. Namely, if I'm looking for one, is there a massive difference between the DR103 and DR201 tonally, besides the higher headroom. I'm thinking of picking up a DR103 to pair along side the 2000s, to run a bit dirty. And I know you had a Major at one point too, thoughts on those compared to the Hiwatts?
Oddly there isn't a big volume difference between the 201 and the 103, a 103 is plenty loud. Sound wise the 201 functions better as a stand alone bass amp in a traditional sense, I could take the 201 to something other than a Who gig. The Major is a bit more glassy in tone without the impact of the Hiwatts. I would buy the DR103 without hesitation.

Cool. I like your guitarist. And he puts up with an old guy?
I find my age isn't really a issue, I'm in demand. a few years ago I got asked to join Knight Patrol, when I started with them the oldest guy in the band was 17.

My ancestors were in a Led Zeppelin song.

I played in a band 70-72 that did jr & sr high shows. "Immigrant Song" was our opener. The opening 'ah-ahhh-ahhh' was, shall we say, challenging at 0730(yeah, that's 7:30 AM) and 2 or 3 more shows per day, 4 or 5 days a week. Then again, we were young and dumb.

Saw this on a concurrent thread - brilliant in it's simplicity (T-birds are mentioned)

Duh. I wear my wireless on a waist belt
Great, now I will have to wade out into Gen Pop to see how this is the most terrible thing that Gibson could do...
Why bother. I’ll summarize: “They’re a bunch of bullies who messed up PR wise. This is their cynical attempt at redemption. They still suck.”

Anytime a Corp steps up to help people, it’s a good thing. Good on them.

I'm hoping for something more creative.

"I was selling a G&F Precision Jazz Special Elite. Now Gibson has screwed up the market by giving away instruments. Now I can't sell it for the same price I paid".

I too have a hard time complaining about charitable acts like this.
