Our official position as per @fasterpussycat:
Well you don't need to have touched, let alone seen, a Thunderbird in the flesh to know they are just awful. Their headstocks pop off when you least expect it, they are really badly made, their pickups produce nothing but mud and raw sewage, they all -- without exception -- are so unbalanced they might as well have a block of concrete chained around the neck ... and they only good for metal.
Well, you really need to start with how important having tort is...Important lessons to be remembered. There's the daily:
'How great are P basses?' -- They're pretty damned good and most of my favourite players play one .... but you seem to require a lot of reassurance.
'How great are J basses?' -- now you are really testing my resolve....

Aaaack!Over in the JC thread the other day, someone was talking about a tort guard. I was extremely well behaved, but between you and me -- oh the humanity!

I'm certain one could have that made.I like tort on some basses, but on a JC? Blech!
IMO, what would look good on the black ones is a black 3 layer guard like on a 335.

I've seen that interface up and running somewhere, 90s I think. The guitarist in my reggae band was an engineer/producer. He used to run a studio with an Ensoniq Paris setup which he has now re-acquired and got running. Anyone heard of it?
This is old gear, but wow does it sound nice and warm! There’s another I/O chassis, so we might set up another rig at my place with an old XP computer I still have![]()

At work, we order lamacoids all the time. I’ll talk to my guy.Do you need genuine ones? People online, like eBay, make some very nice replicas.
