I play it with my brother. He couldn't figure out the guitar part - I told him to just turn on lots of delays and modulations and just improvise over an Am pentatonic. Amazing how close that gets.Awesome Tune..
The bass plays that song. Mr. Edge just makes modulated echo noises (and a bit of pianoing).NYD plays great on a THUNDERBIRD. My band mates noticed it on that song 2hrs into rehearsal and went "hey man, you got a new bass" ? 1st time I brought the TBird at rehearsal.

Thar be plenty of work to get done. Some backwards playing later. Taking a few minutes at lunch to catch up lest I end up 1000 posts behind.Dayum right.

Voice. Of. God.I'm imaging what it must sound like through your live rigs.
I grew up the son of An engineer who thought paying people to fix things was ridiculous. But discretion is often the better part of valor. Good call on letting someone who had tackled the problem before do it right. And using expoxy on an instrument is rarely a smart choice. Tightbond is my preference.Just got my TBird back from minor inpatient surgery. I normally do all my own work, but this one need to see a real doctor. The rear strap button snapped off leaving not enough screw to get a tool on to twist it out. It ended up having to be drilled out. The shop (a very good one with real luthiers) said it was the hardest one they've ever had to deal with. They said someone put much too long of a screw in it, and glued it in with epoxy or something similar. They had to drill it and apply heat to get it to release. Took them 2 hours. Luckily they had quoted me $40 and honored that price. They're good people and I've used them 2 or 3 times when a job was more than I could handle. Here's a pic of the broken screw. Haven't had time to take a pic of the fix yet. In any case, its good to have her back!
Actually, there is still the PB one in the classifieds in Michigan with the correct pickguard/logo. Unfortunately, it is “local only.” Has a black Babicz on it and will include a chrome Supertone and the original black three point too. $1200. If the seller would ship it, it would be a great deal even if the buyer had to pay shipping. As long as it's not 7.62 mm.The TBird looks nice but it's in Michigan-no chance to try out. Only slightly closer to me than you.

Oh look! A Thunderbird!
For the purposes of this thread and keeping it open, what should we call them so we don't have to spell it out?
Thunder trumpet.TrumpetBird?
Shipping would be $125 +/-. Prolly worth it. For me, it's gotta be a NR, though. Which is why I've been looking/lusting over that 2013. Not crazy 'bout blue, but if I'm playing it I can't really see it anyway.I grew up the son of An engineer who thought paying people to fix things was ridiculous. The NS2A is a fine bass, possibly one of Spector's finest sound wise. Did you get it in classic white? It's quite a bit more forward sounding in a mix than most Thunderbirds so it should compliment your bass line up nicely.
Not only am I not currently in a gigging band, I'm not even in any band.
I do jam with the guys on occasion but not that often. My gigging days (and the desire to have them) are long gone. I play pretty much daily with Pandora on random shuffle (never know what song is up next so you gotta be on your toes) or with CDs. The TBird time is split pretty evenly between the Gibby Anniversary and the Eppi VP. Other basses that get a regular workout include an SG supreme, a Fender Starcaster and a Fender Tele modern player.
Note: a total of four Thunderbird references were made in this post. I'm gbassnorth, and I approve this message.![]()
