And pointy.Light-hearted bow. Heavy-handed arrow?
When it rains, it pours, we just had a 5.7 earthquake here in Northern Utah, my rambler shook pretty good. My son and brother in SLC (I live 30 miles North) don't have power. I ran downstairs, the T5 and Embassy are good.
Having a gnarly aftershock as I type this.....
They are now.Are earthquakes in Utah something that happens?

No Bad Bird!
I mentioned this last evening in our life-raft thread... my Epi Saundersbird with Fender/Kubicki 9v pre. I recently took further steps to lighten it by routing out wood (mahogany) where I could. I had already done this under the pg on the front, so I echoed it on the back and used the same pg material as a cover. I got it down to 9lbs/3oz which gives you an idea of how heavy it was prior to routing. I could go further but for now I'm ok with it. All my own builds hoover around 8lbs so I've gotten particular about weight. It is a R&R monster and the "chambering" has subtly enhanced its acoustic quality.

Saunders P-style neck was made at the FCS in the late '80s when it first started. It has really distinctive graining! Tuners are from that same period (late '80s) with Hipshots Drop-D machine incorporated.

No, this was the 5th worst in our history, worst since 1992, but we are on a major fault line, the Wasatch Front
The Bay Area/Peninsula haven't had many tremors in the last few years which makes us all a bit wary. We did have a couple last year, but I've lived here since '90 and there usually are a number of small tremors every now and then. I live a half block from the PO so an off-shore quake wouldn't be good for my area. (to say the least)
I do mention Thunderbirds

Our daughter lives near Anchorage. They're had a ton the past year or so. None while we were there. Maybe we need to make lifesize Miles and Sharon dolls and send them up to see if that fools the fault.
This is the routing I did on my Blonde Bird. If I end up with a bunch of free time, I might do the back of the top wing and increase the size of the control cavity.

Don't back away, but if you must, at least post a pic once in a while!Hey gang,
Just stopped by to say I'm glad the thread got re-opened. Not sure how much I'll post moving forward. I feel like I'm largely responsible for the off-topic wandering since I don't play in a band and I tend to ramble about non-music related things quite a bit. So I'll probably just step away from this thread for the most part and just kind of check in every so often. Not getting rid of the 'Bird, so I'll hold on to my membership. Just don't want to contribute to the next closure.
Have a great day, stay safe, and rock on!
Oh, and just so this isn't off-topic in some way.....

Count me in too! Ah, what were we joining? Is there a club for that? Count me in.
The NS2A is a fine bass, possibly one of Spector's finest sound wise. Did you get it in classic white? It's quite a bit more forward sounding in a mix than most Thunderbirds so it should compliment your bass line up nicely.I cantata some pics, will post up later. My latest accusation was not a bird, I found locally a Spector NS2A that has been at the forefront of the lineup.
Not only am I not currently in a gigging band, I'm not even in any band.^THIS^
We all play a part in the meandering. And I estimate that about half of us are not in gigging bands. We just play by ourselves - ahem.
