Thunderbird Club

Good luck with the band, they can indeed be a "relationship", I think the ones that are the most fun to be in ( and conversely, possibly the worst)have this element, it's really nice when every leaves the ego at home!
I like John Taylor's playing immensely, "Hungry like the Wolf" needs the drums to be correct for the bass to work correctly - Taylor is cool because of what he sometimes doesn't play. With a two pick up 'Bird I like to back off the neck pick up just a little and dime the bridge - Perfect for Taylor's work, a little less bass and a bit of 'burp.

Kubicki Ex-Factor - with all due respects to a T-bird ... nothing sounds like a Factor.

Yep, I would say it is a 69;)Didn't first notice the tuners but those and the bridge confirms it. Gibson was using a lot of different tuners in those days... You can see that my 68 EB0 had the kind of tuners Kalamazoo basses used to have...
I’m impressed when anyone knows anything about Kalamazoo instruments!

Embassy #3 headed my way. This will be the last, I think I'll scrap the Thunderjazz project, and sell the parts I had gathered for it. This Embassy has a drop tuner so I for sure don't need a 5er, I 'll have to try and trade the T5 for a T4, or PT4, still want a Lull in the house, so if anyone is interested......

I wouldn't trade that T5 off, they'll only go up value, while his shop will continue, a bass that Mike built is now a limited item.

I have never figured out what year my EB-2 is. It has an intonable two point bridge like later ones. It has clovers like earlier ones. It is a two pickup version from the factory, with no baritone button from the factory. It also has a Dimarzio One from before I got it and butchered wiring that I have not seen a reason to fix. The serial says it could be anything from '67 to '69, depending on which list you choose. When I got it, I was told it was a '65, but that was clearly wrong. '68 or '69 is probably correct, with the outside chance it is a '70. It does not matter much except as an excuse to entertain myself speculating about it.
Given all the uncertainty, just claim that it is a one off custom '68'69 - it was started on new years eve and completed new years day.
