I bet that sounds awesome. Those single P's usually sound great. and a fat Nordy in the bridge is always a positive, IMO.

Snagged this today and getting it acquainted with the TBird. It's an older made-in-USA model and everything works perfectly. As far as I can tell, it applies light and transparent compression.
This is my 1st rack tube comp, so I'll play with it to see what settings work best for me, but I've seen guys here talking about theirs, so if anyone familiar with either this unit or tube comps in general would like to provide tips, it is quite welcome

It really does. One of my best transactions. Traded a Ric a guy wanted for it and received some money as well. I mostly use the neck PU (Nordy as well, with the Nordy pre engaged all the time), but when playing with a pick I always go about 50/50. Every time I play it, I'm thinking, "Man this thing sounds good!" Not Thunderbird good, but pretty dog gone close.
Right? Next time a sweet First Act bass comes up for cheap, I’m going to buy it and maybe rat-rod it. I bet nobody except some musicians will notice.

I don't usually go for a black bass. Chrome and black is certainly a high end look. But that wing shape really 'works' in black.
*that said, there's a yellow refin on Reverb and if the paint wasn't falling off, I might have bought it. Thunderbirds look great in yellow. WHO KNEW.
"falling off" might be a bit harsh. But the cracking along the raised section is a bit curious.

You're right. We all speak bass here, and as funny as the wording on the posting was, I didn't have any problem understanding what he was saying. And for the record, I'm not normally drawn to mustard yellow basses, but that color didn't look half bad on a bird.
