Thunderbird Club

I've seen a strap like that one on the VP before!;)

I have to admit I really like Circadian Rhythm. Very cool bass part.

Any updates on your VP string journey?
It’ll wear the Slinkys while I’m getting used to it. They don’t last all that long and I’ll try something else in a bit. I have a set of SIT Power Steels on backorder; who knows when they'll arrive. Maybe those.

I love that pickguard.

Only two like it in the whole world!

This is about as un-THUNDERBIRD as you can get, but I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one to see what it's like.

After the fiesta red version is out. I don't think the black would grab me, and snot green does not appeal to me at all.

TB64 6-String Bass

NOT THAT I AM GETTING ANOTHER BASS ANY TIME SOON.

I really want one.

The one on it stays on it, the other is the only link to my stollen '63 II. I took that pic right when I got the other one back. I repaired the missing corner. If fact, I just put that one (off my '63 made in 1974) on my '64 - as I've never put it on there before. It has slightly different contours. Maybe I'll leave it on for just for a bit, for a photo op. It's a pretty sacred icon to me.

And speaking of the girl and her strap, this might be a bit on the lite side for some, but there’s lots of bird watching.

I like it but I personally want more bass in the mix. Maybe not louder, but just more present. It's mixed like too many pop songs that bury the bass.

Jerry Wexler coined the name R&B and produced Aretha and many other greats. And he was a devote atheist. Interviewed once, he was asked what he would want written on his tombstone. Without hesitation "More bass" was his reply. JW is my kinda producer.

Didn't get his wish though - that is why you should never count on anything once you are dead.

I agree. Huge difference seeing/hearing them live. They hooked up with Jackknife Lee the last two albums and he slicked up the recordings. Not quite sure why so many artists use him. Probably something to do with their current record deal.
