Thunderbird Club

Not gigging anymore so I mostly play seated. Huge difference between the NR and Reverse when seated. I mostly play up near the neck, so the upper horn scoop out of the Reverse body style is a perfect place to rest my wrist and the large body bump by the bridge is perfect for a forearm or elbow rest. The Reverse also rests on my right thigh perfectly. The NR feels more awkward when seated. Both are about the same when standing with a strap on, kind of like a P bass and Jazz are similar with a strap on. Reach is about the same for both, I just find the Reverse TBird to be very sit down friendly.
Is a reach-around about the same with both?

my first Bird was a Gibson bicen model (natural) I bought brand new in 80/81(?)...I suspect this Greco will feel (not sound) similar but could be totally wrong, in fact, JIO and I are trying to setup some time to do an A/B with his 64 among other things. that said, I am very fond of NR ergos.....how do you find your BaCH compares to you reverses in this respect?

The Greco and a '76 are worlds apart, I think the only characteristics they share are same general shape, the necks are very different with the Greco being more like a P bass and shorter 33 1/4" scale vs. 34" for the Gibson. A '76 feels like a big bass, because it is, the Greco is, and feels smaller. I think a '76 needs a big amp and some real volume to sound good, no doubt the odd design of the pickups being the reason. The Greco sounds fantastic at any volume, the pickup is so hot that I usually have to use the -10db pad on my amp as it overloads the front end ( My Lull, Jackson and the Les Paula require this as well) , it's just that ferocious. What surprises me is that Grecos don't really command high dollars, they're very good basses for what they typically go for, by far better than anything in the price range.

Back when I regularly drank beer.....

I started out sitting to play. In part because I sat at my lessons. But eventually, I decided that standing to play helped with some ergonomics. Now I always stand, including at lessons.

Besides, sitting is the new smoking...

There are scary memes on the internet about it, so it has to be true.. Right?

And I have no idea what happens if you sit down and smoke. presumably, you immediately explode or soemthing.
