Saw that listing but then saw a cleaner sunburst Vintage Pro with case listed that I snagged for under $500!! Excited to finally get Vintage Pro to go with my 2013 Gibbie TBird.
Cool. I saw a VP burst with a Gibson case actually locally that I could have nabbed for 450-500 but I passed. I wanted black or white though. I chose black for the sake of maximum rock n roll!

Awesome!

The band has a very fresh and original sound, with maybe just a hint of Alice In Chains or Stone Temple Pilots in it. Loved all the tracks! Any live clips?

Some time ago I joked about buying a Greco IV Bird and yanking the bridge pup out of it to install in my BaCH II bird. Where were you able to find a Greco pup?
Yeah, I like it, but I have a hard time describing it. Riff Rock with hints of psychedelia? Riff heavy Butt Rock? Don't know, but I like it.

I haven’t used spotify. It keeps playing other crap instead of this. I put this on a playlist but don’t see an option that actually lets me play that instead of the other crap.

Might wanna just try the youtube links then, I know Spotify can be wonky if you don't pay for it (I don't pay for it, and it can be a pain).

I don't think we have any live clips currently, unfortunately. And thank you! You know, it's funny, my guitar player says a lot of what I write sounds like Soundgarden or Alice in Chains influenced, even though I don't listen to them much, but I guess I did grow up in the northwest in the late 90s, so it's bound to rub off!

I have not found a Greco pickup, I pulled the Greco from my II to try out a Chinabucker in it, and since it was out popped it in the BaCH when I bought it. I think the Greco bucker will be going back in the Greco and I'll get a hot Thunderbucker for the BaCH. To @Miles_ONeal point though, I don't think anyone has specifically cloned the Greco pickups, though I wish they would!

I have to agree. This album we just released, we recorded all in our garage (two of us live together, and converted the garage to a studio/practice space), but inside of punching everything, I'd do two or three whole run throughs of the song (or as many as needed), and then pick the best take. The guitar player/engineer asked why not just punch in afterwards if there's a flub, but I prefer to be able to get the whole song in a single run, seems to just have a better flow, even if I could technically play a certain part better or whatever just punching in.
If someone’s else is paying for studio time, I will play a couple of takes and punch in to fix mistakes. If I’m doing it at home, I try to get whole takes.
I was working up a dub track the other day and on a run through, I played each part slightly differently when they repeated, thinking I would pick the best one to use. I listened to it the next day and realized it’s actually pretty cool like that.
What really bugs me is producers that just get one good version of each part and copy/paste the whole song together. I believe the subtle variations add richness to the music that’s lost when it’s too perfect.

I was really happy with Denon sports wireless earbuds (the particular ones I had are no longer made) but I went through 3 sets as they were not as waterproof as advertised. My sweat eventually corroded the internal wiring causing failure. Sounded good, but after a couple of warrantee replacements, we agreed that they were not up to spec for me.

As for fitting, I am a big fan of complyfoam tips.
Comply™ Foam Tips - Replacement Earphone Tips

Get the right size to fit your earbuds and to fit your ear canal. Very comfortable for several hours at a time.
Thanks, I'll check them out.

Or you’re a perfectionist, or simply can’t get something to work as expected. I’m a big fan of pick a take and live with it, but studio albums are seldom that way.
Much current music is overproduced...and boring because of it. I get the perfectionist thing - I tend to over analyze my own playing. I give it a day or two, and listening fresh ears, what I thought was too sloppy is often good.

We are ready for the trick or treaters!

That's why so much songs with modern production are dull. If I wanted the same part each time I'd have a computer do it. I purposely don't play a part the same way twice, it keeps it interesting! I want that subtle variation in there, because even if the listener doesn't consciously notice, it makes the song seem more full, more lively, keeps you listening.

I really like consistency, but I really want to hear it in intent more than in execution. Some progression and development of an idea through the travel of a song is kind of crucial for me, for the same reasons you express here.

What did you not like about the GHSBFs? And how do the D'Addario 1/2 rounds differ?
For a flat, they're kinda rough. Sorta like you describe EBCF's. Not at all like Chromes or LaBella DTF's. Tone was too muddy. I used the EB-0 with the GHS's for the last set last night and had to take off bass and add a lotta treble on the amp, which is not easy to reach/adjust on stage(we actually had one at this place).

Yeah, well I feel pretty justified in my complaints about "rock music" now. This sucks. The musicians, like them or not, are pretty dismissable... your life as a rock musician in a recording studio is worthless... why I love the punk ethic still.
I’m with you on the punk ethic. I just listened to DOA’s War on 45 last night.
