I really enjoyed his breakdown of the song (FWIW it still gives me some goosebumps all these years later too, I think it's one of rock's greatest songs.) , I've played along with it but never with the intricacy or low D. The bass tone by itself seemed a bit dry, yet in the mix it works. Genius .

The group of people that set up the Abbey Road jam a while back were discussing playing the Boston album. I’m game, but I have concerns about the vocals. Emile is a great singer, but there are parts that are way high up!

Don't know about the neon strings, but the Red Devils are the same as Black Beauties except the colour.

AFAIK, they're the same string with a different coating. But I'm not even remotely an expert on that subject...

Stool just happened to be in the same place where it was most convenient to use the door frame/trim to prop the bass up with.
Stool's always there, you just usually don't see it, it's covered by the cardboard boxes I take pictures of in the same spot

It’s a really good album. Listened to it again driving home from the beach today. Sounds really good through my car stereo. I really got into the bass on the track “Mine.”

@D.M.N. Going through your material on Spotify, I didn't see before that you had put out a cover of Rumble. I am a big fan of the song. I have always liked the original and spent some time trying to recreate the original bass line. But, it is on an upright so everything is between notes. I think the rhythm is more important than anything as it was supposed to be a stroll.

Looks cool - I tried a set of the red ones once.., they sounded good but the red wore/chipped off where played pretty quickly. (and as you can see - it was a fretless)
