Thunderbird Club

If you’re punching in endlessly, you don’t know the material!
There is something to be said for getting it done in a continuous take, but I’d much rather track in my music room than my driveway:D

So true - we hit this song first run through. Did a second take for good measure but I knew the first was it as we played/recorded it. All the right notes in all the right places, but more importantly delivered with the right feel. Overdubbed the guitar doubling on the lead-section and vocals.

And so today, we come to the $ad end of the GHS Brite Flats(on the Epi EB-0)experiment. So as to not completely put them down, I will say that the Pelham blue silks were pretty. Didn't like the feel or the sound. First set I've ever tossed as soon as I removed them. Oh, well. LSTYD.
I had a set of D'Addario 1/2 rounds laying around that I took off my LPB2/5 , so I installed the E-A-D-G from those. Much better. Tone and feel.

D'Addario is my round-wound string of choice these days - LaBella for flats.

man, if I had to play one of these for a living I would have a very skinny family lol...to boot, they do away with pretty much the only similarity to the electric bass by tuning A D G C to keep the string tension tauter and hence up the acoustic volume which means you can’t look at what the guitarist is playing when you’re in the weeds...

yikes! That's what's called 'playing it by ear' :) :bassist:

In light of his passing, will you be changing the band's name?

I saw Sheryl Crow live with Robert Plant. She is an incredible talent.

I would make a comment about Lance Armstrong being a douche, but I don't have enough facts to correctly form that opinion.

He's a douche - as a cyclist who has followed his 'story' since when he first hit the scene in the mid '90s ... I know all the sorted details. He has his own cycling blog site (of course) and when the Tour de France coverage included him for a short spot two years ago - there was such blow-back from the cycling community they cut further spots for the rest of that Tour.

No way - in fact, we will honor the man by continuing to use his name for our band. Long live Sean Connery! As an aside - "conneries' in French translates to "foolery" ...

Yes, it's a VP. And yes, that's a darn good price.

Smokin' deal - just don't need another bird...
