Just do it. You know you want to. Now that the idea for a Kahler has been planted in your head, you know you won't actually be satisfied with anything else.If they were cheaper I'd get one no doubt. Why not?

For $400 I can't justify a tremolo, no matter how cool.
Well, let me tell you, the way I personally play, if i had one, I'd find places to use it. But again, $400? Hell no. If I found one used , black, then yeah.
Uhh. NoIt would be way cheaper to just get a Bass VI which already has a tremelo for the effect - But who would wanna play a Bass VI in a Crue cover band...?![]()
It's time to save a search on FleaBayWell, let me tell you, the way I personally play, if i had one, I'd find places to use it. But again, $400? Hell no. If I found one used , black, then yeah.
Just thought I would mention. I needed to tweak the truss rod and adjust the bridge slightly after fitting the tailpiece to get it back to how great the action was before fitting it. It was buzzing a little higher up the neck after fitting.
Even though the post inserts didn't appear to have pulled, the bridge must have moved slightly. The tail piece locks the whole bridge down very well.
Waaay ahead of ya buddy! It's time to save a search on FleaBay
Looking at these, they are sealed just like an emg. It'd be a matter of busting them out of the casing then epoxy into the covers
@wolfkeller,
Refresh me, what did you want to put into those covers? Those, far as I know, are about same size as t bird pups. FYI,i have found that there is alot of play when or comes to these so called standard sizes. Often, the bottom of a pick up will be a little wider than the top. That slight taper has caused me to use a dremmel several times. Emg, dimarzio, Duncan, they all do this.
I was looking at these and wondering if they would fit.
Chrome Plated Metal bass pickup cover for Gibson Thunderbird bass guitar
Chrome Plated Metal bass pickup mounting ring for Gibson Thunderbird bass guitar
Sizes look close as they are about 2.6mm longer and just under a mm wider.
Hate to spend $50 just to find out they don't though, without butchering the pickups.
Ok, if it were ME wanting to do that, if go with those chrome covers but you will have to make your routes larger. A dremmel with 2 different sanding wheels makes it very easyOh, I've got a Dillion bird that I want to chrome out, and as you know, it has emg 35 size pickups.
Hi Veebass, a couple of questions on the tailpiece (stoptail?) if I may.
1. do you know if they are available in Black?
2. are they worth (any benefit) putting on "just because"? or are they only an answer to a 3 point bridge issue that "may' occur?
Cheers
1. I haven't seen them in black. @godofthunder59 here does them but I think only in nickel. He may drop in and confirm or have more info.
2. Certainly I would need to glue the post inserts on my Greco if not for the tailpiece- the post inserts have moved a bit in that one. I am not sure how common it is. I understand it is less likely if the bridge is correctly angled.
Hope that helps.
