Well...a little bit of a setback on the red Vintage Pro..on the second to last shot of clear coat the holding screw on the rotation handle sheared off.I guess I’m lucky, the body hit a plastic milk carton first before hitting the ground. The lacquer was still soft from building coats over several days.Almost all of the damage was on the backside so recovery will be possible..Now I know that everyone will think that this is fake news but the headstock is fully intact..I checked the internet and found this to be the first documented free fall of a T-Bird from over three feet that the headstock did not pop off. :) this Bird was ready to fly before it’s time.
I’ll let it gas off for a week or so before I explore repair options.
I’ve used this rig on several neck through paint jobs in the past..I guess I just wore it out..I’m not really a pre relic guy..I’ll recover..

Minor derail. It will be so cool when you’re done.

Stumbled on this while playing my Thunderbird this afternoon......Nope hope of me learning it, Pat Badger is great player, had to be across from Nuno Bettencourt.

spectacular....good thread too. the pup draws quite a bit of attention, is the one on there currently made up of individual bobbins?

Yes, but that individual bobbins pu concept needs further work. The ones the guy sells are too fragile. I have my own ideas but I sorta' dropped the ball on it, maybe something to revisit. In fact, after playing it the whole (bass) design needs more work. There are things about it that work well, and others that fall short. It works best playing with a bow, which is what I had in mind.

Well it's pretty great. I prefer the thinner neck on the Reverse, but this one has its own great thing. The sound from it may be ballsier. Hard to describe, but it's gotten some rave reviews here.

Probably a lot like my Studio, pretty much the same bass - love it! The combination of the set neck, TB Plus and those SIT's is damn good!
