The band is pretty busy this month - we'll be in Sequim this weekend if you're inclined to a show and The Victory Lounge in Seattle the week after. August is better, only one show. We have to Will here too!

Motley Crue: good band awesome music, very much some of my playing style is just like Nikki: heavy handed & grooving to the max. Getting people to dance is the good thing in writing music, if i can't dance to the current, it gets washed out.
On other bird news, my revamped goth is gonna get a few tweaks in mods to make it a lil bit better than what it is. Namely is having side dot inlays (toothpicks work great), & once i get the new EMG pickups, i'll be filling the excess & painting/varnishing the front of the bass. Still not sure if i'll add a BTC control (bass/treble concentric pot) or if i should just have a passive tone control. In any case, it'll sound cleared, punchy & ballsy compared to the dull lifeless stock pickups. They are good, but i prefer having attack in my tone soon enough i'll give it new life altogether, & also my parts are being ordered next week for my Tigerbird bass the remaining fretboard & truss rod & the Seymour duncan jazz pickup set for my humbucker bridge pickup 
first & only 3 pickup bass. The power it'll have & tone definition will be beyond my imagination & expectations !!!

I'm an EMG guy from back when I first started playing. and have em in my primary bass. Because they sound like EMG's, in order to get the most out of 'em, run 'em active. Get the BTC. All you gain is a wide range of tones that you can't get out of passive pups, and noiseless operation. I'm the complete opposite, i prefer passive pickups over active (& i never found emgs to give me a tone that i like) BUT!! These EMG TBHZ are the only ones that i've found suitable for my tone & look for my thunderbird. But yeh the debate is still up for either having the active preamp or just going passive tone.
Cool. I'd be more interested if it didn't have a tremelo/vibrato thingy though.

But you could always remove the vibrato arm, as it is only press-fit into the socket - Remove it, and presto!: It doesn't have a tremolo/vibrato thingy anymore!

Tremolos can be blocked. A friend of mine hates whammy bars or Bigsbys on his guitars, but he has a Strat he really likes. So he took the arm off and blocked the mechanism. Now it's a hardtail. More or less.

Pretty much just that we don't get easily bored.
Gigged my Pro V for the first time this weekend. Been working up to it, finally felt comfortable enough playing a 5'er to break it out. Not the best pic but you get the idea.
I'm gettin' it done with no hands here.........

Used the Chinabucker equipped Bird with a band last night- I am liking it more and more every time I use it!

I've got a bunch of thunderbird parts I'm not using anymore (including a set of thunderbucker's, tuners, supertone, FCH 3 point) so if anyone here is interested message me (hope this isn't breaking any rules)
