Thunderbird Club

NBD, not a T-bird but I guess you COULD classify it as being a Non Reverse copy with a bolt on neck.

Okay, so it's a Dimavery, cheap stuff but it plays well and what you see is what you get. BUT not really because this cool matte Onyx color isn't a stock feature. Nor is the black pickguard.

Because as I found out when shimming the neck, it's actually one of THESE...

And cool as that rattlecan refinish might look, the one who did it made the classic mistake which ruins so many instruments: he didn't take it apart beforehand

Yes you do need another VP just like one you already have, so you can have it turned PB
LOL - you aren't far off. The only reason I had it in my cart to begin with was because at that price I could touch up the cosmetic damage and have it repainted Candy Apple Red in poly and I'd only have about $700 in it. But then I took time to think again and came to the conclusion that I already own a half dozen TBirds that are candidates for a CAR refin and they don't require any purchase/shipping/tax/repair funds.

Bummer of a week that has culminated in a bummer of a day. My father-in-law has been ill and in the hospital for several weeks with one then then another. They never could make progress on the things that popped up. We met today and agreed nothing else can be done and it's best to move him to palliative care. Now we wait. He will be spared dialysis which he was headed for in the near future and for that I'm thankful. Unlike some in-law situations, we were great friends. He was like my second dad. We loved talking and killing time, talking his farm stories, NASCAR, cars and Bluegrass music to drive the ladies crazy. Never had an argument in 38 years and no regrets between us. Love your loved ones while you can. (Please, no need to comment. That's not at all why I mentioned this. We all go through tough times and hate to see anyone even online acquaintances go through a difficult patch.)

Horrible picture taking but no way in the world is that bass in good condition. Not a well cared for bass, IMO.
It looks pounded, especially the back, but I may bite. I need another bass like I need a hole in the head, but for less than $400...

Well, I bit. It is headed to Seattle.

So sorry to hear this, thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. So neat to hear how close he is to you. Sounds like you both have many memories and common interests. The most any of us can hope for in our twilight years is to be surrounded by as much love and care as you and your family are providing in this his time of need.
Now get out there and rock your birds, I've found it's about the best stress and depression relief there is.

I'd mentioned it elsewhere and simply neglected to post it here. There has been national coverage of a shooting in Royal Palm Beach, FL, this past week. The woman who was murdered was the widow of the drummer I worked with for over 30 years. I had known her for about 45 years. I'll be attending her funeral tomorrow.
At my age(76)I expect to lose coworkers, classmates, and friends to age or disease. Not this.
I'll be going to bed now-early for me-as I have to get up early to go to the funeral. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I am sorry to hear about your father-in-laws condition. I loved hearing that you two had such a great relationship. It doesn't always work that way. All the best to you and the family.

That is terrible news. I am so sorry for the loss of your friend.

Mike, just read about it today. What a horrible and inexplicable thing. Sounds like the shooter had some known serious mental issues. We are all capable of doing great things when we put our minds to it, unfortunately our minds are also capable of doing untold damage if they are not mentally well. So sad that innocent people like your friend and the child were caught up in this. Thoughts and prayers go out to you and any family or friends they may have.
