Thunderbird Club

Our local strawberries are in season. Compared to these, the ones from California/Mexico taste like cardboard.
We always make at least one batch of freezer jam in June.

The almonds were left over from making the spinach salad we had earlier.
We have local small growers by us who grow amazing strawberries. We line up for them at the stands. The stores only carry production berries from Santa Maria and Oxnard. They're picked way too early. Saying they taste like cardboard is being too kind.

I was surprised when we first moved to this area. The strawberries were huge, easily the size of a plum, but hardly any flavor. We find the small growers have better tasting produce.

Well, this was my morning. 12.5km. Distance starting to increase with the goal of doing 20km by august.

Very Sunny in Seattle right now and for at least the next 7-10 days - expected to be 90 on Monday, that's hot for us!
Love this time of year, it's light until about 10:00 and warm, perfect for outdoor drinking and cooking.
Being that Sunny is not very typical is it? A few years ago my wife ran across the chart that pointed out that Louisville has about as many fully sunny days as Seattle as I recall. We have more cloudy or partly cloudy days than we do fully sunny days by a long shot. It seems to just get a lot hotter here. I hope you can enjoy the good weather as much as you can.

We have that problem around here. Whenever we see big strawberries they almost always taste like nothing. Therefore we avoid them like furball's. Not entirely sure where they come from though there are some farms across the river in Indiana that raise some but not on a massive scale and those are just normal size.

Keep at it and build your stamina. By the end of summer you should be able to head toward the south west side of Lake Erie just a little past Sandusky and Mudd Creek Bay, follow some of the smaller rivers and streams to the Ohio at about Cincinnati and just float/coast your way down to Louisville and Bam! Before you know it you'll be here.

Actually it is for this time of year, we natives just want everyone else to think it rains here all the time
It rains as much or more in many other parts of the country, including NYC. It stays light out late into the evening with the sun setting in the northwest - love it!

We usually say Summer starts July 5th, it's been a warm, dry Spring.......Welcome mat is always out for the Thunderbird Club :)

Stays lightish 'til ~9, but outdoor cooking/drinking is out unless one likes feeding the skeeters.

My wife and I just finished our first T-shirt using the Cricut. We forgot to flip the image the first time, so we decided that one would go on the back.
The little bass at the bottom was for the initial test.

I think we need to commission official club shirts. That one is simple and elegant.

Not so much with bugs here either - Florida and Australia have that!
