Thunderbird Club

Awesome! And same playing position as mine, anchored off the bridge pickup.

Really fun bass line. What song was that?

That's "In a Room without a view" by The Smithereens, I love, love, love, that band! Bassist Mike Mesaros is really good, totally solid and creative with his lines, fun stuff to learn, all tuned to E flat.

I got tired of you people bragging about your NRs, so I made my own NR Reverse. So there. Got to get better PUs.

I have seen this picture many times and only now it occurs to me: most thunderbirds come with a white pick guard. It is only limited cases that come with black, yet 4 of your 7 have black pick guards.

Actually the gold bird, the Goth and the white Greco all came stock with black guards, the 2015 bird is sporting an after market black guard.

It's not Thunderbird Thursday anymore :( but I decided to swap the Nexus strings back onto the Blackbird; this meant, of course, I had to play it for a bit... then decided it was a great time to play with some of the camera effects on my phone :meh:
Instead of going to bed at the proper time :banghead:
So, I figured, why not have Black Friday a few months early?

So due to a couple of factors, I've nixed the plan for nickel hardware on the new black Thunderbird. Keeping it black. And unless Steve and do black Thunderbucker covers, I'll likely go with black chrome Lollars.
I've only heard YouTube video of Lollars (who also appears t be a good guy) but I think they should be good. I'm toying with the idea of putting a set in my Goth.

@dukeorock has both. I get the feeling the Thunderbuckers and Lollars are close enough that with a little EQ you couldn't tell the difference. Especially in a mix. But I like Steve and would rather support him.

Yeah. Thunderbucker seems to be such a niche one-man operation that you like to support people like that whenever you can. Lollar while not a big company, certainly has a lot more volume with all the pickups he does. It's a good time to be a bass player. Lot's of good choices.
