Nice! I would love to snag one of those 2x15 cabs to pair with my HiWatt head. Always loved the sound of a 2x15 cab.

When I was building custom cabs, we offered a 215 with the same drivers as this new Mesa 215. Our cab was very popular amongst a certain crowd of players. I will say, I like the form factor of the Mesa a bit more. Ours was tall, wide and shallow, whereas the Mesa is short, narrow and deep. It’s a much bigger sounding cab than its size would suggest. The Faital 15PR400 is like the very best vintage 15 you ever heard ‘back in the day,’ but handles way more power and extends lower AND higher. It’s a remarkable speaker. My DIY ‘1822’ cab uses a very similar Faital 18” speaker with two 2” mid drivers in a sealed cab and it’s my favorite cab I’ve ever made. I sold like 5 or 6 of em. The combo of an 18” driver in a sealed enclosure brought up too many preconceived notions so I could barely give em away. Too bad. That had so much punch and great off axis dispersion. Oh well! For now, if you want that classic vintage vibe but with massively improved power handling and frequency range, the Mesa SW215 is very tough to beat. The Berg NV412 is also seriously underrated if you don’t mind the schlep :)

It is a gig at the bottom of the sea!

Haha! Naw, just tons of blue light and a fog machine :)
