Thunderbird Club

Odd about lack of bottom. Boomers are known for plenty of that. But it just may not be a good match. For me, some basses sound better with some strings and definitely not with others. I find that true when changing rigs, different strings are often needed. But don't sweat it at all if they don't work. Life is too short for bad tone!
nope, it’s a great string (been around forever for a reason) that deserves more looking into……been thinking of getting a set for awhile now to confirm my reaction when i first slapped a set on my Gretsch (having only used flatwounds) 42 years ago..:eek::eek:

The pups have arrived from New York! I'd be soldering them in but am dressed for dinner......

I read about that the other day. He is very lucky - few live to tell the story of a ruptured aortic aneurism.
I'm not sure luck goes far enough. Typically you have more (limited) time with abdominal aneurysms than aortics. But that's not saying much. Had he been on bus, plane, some smaller town, not downtown where the hospital was...... Not a good outcome.

Yeah, AAAs are more survivable, but that doesn't say much. In either case, early detection is the best way to save a life; unfortunately they are generally symptom free and so are only caught by luck.

In all, choosing to have finished the guitar solo could have been fatal. Seconds count.
