Thunderbird Club

Welcome to the club!
What part of Germany are you in? I spent a fair amount of time there on business trips and occasionally got a chance to get out of conference rooms and meetings and see some of the countryside, very pretty place.
Oh, nice :)
I live near Montabaur. That is right in the middle between Frankfurt and Cologne. My office is in Frankfurt. My band is based in Alzenau, between Aschaffenburg and Hanau.
That area is known by many Americans. The US Army used to have troops there, but moved away mostly

Cool, I think I drove through Montabaur on my way from Frankfort to Bonn, unfortunately we were running late for a business meeting so we didn’t get a chance to make any stops along the way. Most of my time in Germany was spent in Frankfort and South of there in Darmstadt, Kroenburg, Schwalbach, Worms and Rothenburg.

I’m actually going for a business trip to Germany next week Tuesday. This time will stay 3 days for meetings in the Dusseldorf area, but I have a business associate south west from Frankfurt, actually west from Mannheim, in Eisenburg, who I visit regularly.

I have spent some time in Germany, primarily Frankfurt (where I found the street name Hamburger Alle too funny). I was told that being the financial center, Frankfurt was not very interesting. I found it quite interesting; if that is the worst (pun intended) the rest must be quite spectacular.

35mm Kodak Ektar 100 (because by then it was very difficult to find slide film and nearly impossible to find processing or chemistry for processing). From memory f8.0 or 11 and more than 60s.

I was there, at exactly that square in March 2020, having a beer before heading to the airport and home. That was my last trip abroad, 9-11.3.2020, before everything closed. The airport was deserted, and I was almost alone on the plane to Helsinki. The day after Finnair cancelled my flight to Moscow I had booked for 13.3…

There was a Xmas market in the square that night. I took this after everything closed up. There were still a few people walking around. About a half dozen people walked through the frame while I was taking this.

Our daughter lived in a small town near Grafenwōhr. Maybe one of the dorfs? Anyway, beautiful country, great people. We visited Frankenstein Castle, then I took the train north to Dusseldorf to visit a friend. I really hope to get back.
