A very T-bird like bass.
I hate the pickguard, though. It's kinda like a Tele and Thunderbird love child - Probably my fave shape from Schecter.

There was a strange period in rock between 1988 and 1991 when, hair metal became its own parody and bands like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, REM and the Pixies started to make some serious waves, signalling the shifting to the guard.
This clip of the Belgian band "De Kreuners" (Literately meaning "Those who moan" which is a brilliant name for a band no matter how you slice it) is a good showcase of that shift, very clear to see that they started out a hair metal band but evolved. The song is called "Ik wil je" (I want you) and look at that crazy white ESP with the quadruple P bass pickups.

What PillO really wanted to say: Играет и звучит как арбузОчевидно, @Nocturnal знает, о чем говорит
I completely agree. The last sounded good. The first two are flushers.....I didn't think much of the sound from the first two, but the third sounded like a Thunderbird to me.
Well the first guy seemed like he thought he was playing a guitarI completely agree. The last sounded good. The first two are flushers.....

Agreed, the first two sounded horrible. The last one sounded good, but I suspect it’s because he was playing the notes in Russian. The English notes would have sounded more like the first two clips.I completely agree. The last sounded good. The first two are flushers.....
LOL - I guess there’s a reason they call the company Schecter “Guitar” Research and not “Bass” Research.Well the first guy seemed like he thought he was playing a guitar![]()

Yeah, what he said!

But at least he shows you can play slap on a Thunderbird. Not my thing. If I wanted a J bass, (I don’t) I’d buy one. Here I thought it was me......
Simple, typical playing is really what I'd like to hear if I'm trying to evaluate various tones.
My girlfriend at the time looked a lot like a young Linda Ronstadt, short hair version. She became the crazy, so the fact that she was very cute became irrelevant. But, I didn't hurt myself wrestling with her. It was on a mat with a referee. Not near as satisfying. I hadn't discovered bass yet at the time, let alone Thunderbirds.Any pictures of her?![]()
You don't want pictures of a 16 year old Gaolee lying on the floor with his head cranked over at a weird angle. Really, you don't. And there aren't any pictures of that, either. No pictures of the girlfriend at the time either. You might like those, but I don't have any.No pix, didn't happen...
