Thunderbird Club

Congrats! I dig the black PG with a gold Thunderbird. It really dresses it up.
Yeah! I'm usually not a black on black fan, but the nickel and gold detailing really makes it feel classy and not 'metal'. I'm more a vintage/grunge kinda guy so this hits the mark!

Edit: shocked the one with a black and gold avatar likes my black and gold setup lol

Looks fantastic!
Thanks. Eager to get this to my guy for a setup. Sooner I do, sooner I get to enjoy it to it's fullest.

 All humans are humans. Some human are stupid humans. Intelligence and wisdom are not the same. But I'm thinking she has neither. Glad you added (~), because I'm pretty sure it caught on in some circles. Fortunately not ones we find ourselves in!:D

Back when I was in undergrad art college - we saw it when it was released on the big screen. (film) Cringe-factor 11. It was a strange time in the late '60 -early '70s. (PF was '72) and John Waters was an eccentric provocateur but sociologically interesting director who pushed the boundaries of what was 'acceptable'. He was proceeded (most likely inspired) by Andy Warhol in that dept - the intersection between 'home movies', art and "reality TV" (before reality TV). Other than anyone who actually watched (like we did) Pink Flamingo's and his following films w/Divine ("The Diane Linkletter Story" - very hard to watch ~ wouldn't advise it) - just knowing about that scene (and others like it) is how he became known. His later films like "Polyester" and "Shampoo" (no, not that kind of poo!) are much less outrageous and pretty entertaining.

Woohoo!! New addition to the family. The replacement pick guard is pretty close in size too.

That really looks good. Maybe my VP needs a black guard like that. The '15 already has one, as is mandatory for 2015 Thunderbirds. I didn't realize black guards were also mandatory on black VPs. But, it sure looks like that might be the truth.

I like it w/the black pg  :bassist:

Just got home and put on the guard. Only a few holes didn't line up thankfully. Have to say, it might now be an Ebony VP standard to swap out.... it looks so much better than stock white

Definitely! Very happy with the purchase

Not the highest of quality, but great for the price.

Have also been eyeing these as well to replace my white pickguard on the white VP I have:

I like the looks of that black pickguard. I am quite tempted to order one myself. Assuming it would fit the 5. I like the metal, but the bass is heavy, and this would help drop a little weight as well. Thanks for sharing the link.

mine didn’t quite line up on the Epiphone CP, I had to move it back to make it look even, You can see a couple exposed holes I need to fill, but no big deal for me.

On second thought... never mind.

I know the 5 point spline isn't exactly hugging the horn but I don't have PS at work, just the lousy MS Paint program. I don't think it would matter which program is used to do the mockup... it looked better in my head than it does in mockup.

The clean look is the way to go.

isn’t it @Chucky Stiletti that has the NR with the clear scratchplate? I think none or clear, but with the woodstock logo….

Not the Greco.
Didn't get much of a weekend to enjoy the '64 as I had to work a good part of the day today, got home with just enough time to get cleaned up for my dinner date. What an amazing bass, it's very light and resonant, very nice growl from some old Rounds........
