But the Texan did a double neck didn't he?A Texan did it first. Anything for bragging rights, ya know.

I hope you have my experience that it will sound much better live in a decent size room. I believe I mentioned before that mine sounds very unremarkable at home. Most all my basses sound better that it does at home. But live and in a big room is where the magic happens. I was trying to think while using it last Sunday what characteristic makes the magic and I can't say what it is. Bit it is there. But there's something going on no other bass I've ever owned had/has. Anxious for a gig report on this piece of art and history. Not the Greco.
Didn't get much of a weekend to enjoy the '64 as I had to work a good part of the day today, got home with just enough time to get cleaned up for my dinner date. What an amazing bass, it's very light and resonant, very nice growl from some old Rounds........

On my right hand, I can move the tip of each finger independently. Because of the (suspected) nerve injury and muscle atrophy, I could no longer move the tip of my index finger and tip of my thumb. The tendon that moves the tip of my thumb was relocated to the brachioradialis. That means that every time I flex my bicep, my thumb flexes. My flexor digitorum profundus for my index finger (D2) was weaved to my middle finger (D3) so those two are now under the control of 1 muscle instead of individual muscles. So I can move my fingers independently at the knuckle and first joint but are not independent at the second joint.
Hands are complicated. No wonder so many people have trouble drawing them.
Woo!!Woo Hoo! I'm caught up!
This /\yep, as much as there are other killer Birds out there nothing comes close to a 60's.....hard to get this across if one hasn't played one...incredibly light, slim....BODACIOUS sounding.....FME, if anything comes remotely close it would be a Greco...(disclaimer; have never played a VP)...
Don't say a word after some of the things you posted. We are no where near even.Arrrrgh! Eye bleach. Eye bleach!

Well that didn't last long.Woo Hoo! I'm caught up!
George, you’re making me like gold hardware! I usually “don’t care for it” (as my sister in law used to say). How is it looking for weight?
That does look sweet! I might follow your lead.Just got home and put on the guard. Only a few holes didn't line up thankfully. Have to say, it might now be an Ebony VP standard to swap out.... it looks so much better than stock white

You goofball, the reason it doesn't fit is because your Epiphone CP is actually a Gibson. I’m pretty sure I read that here on Talkbass.mine didn’t quite line up on the Epiphone CP, I had to move it back to make it look even, You can see a couple exposed holes I need to fill, but no big deal for me.

With everything on it except the string tree it weighs in at 8 pounds 8 ounces. Not bad at all for a three pup layout. No doubt the semi hollow body helps.George, you’re making me like gold hardware! I usually “don’t care for it” (as my sister in law used to say). How is it looking for weight?

Here’s the BlingBird schematic I designed. Sorry about the rough sketch, it was just kinda scribbled down on paper as I thought through how to maximize tone options and minimize the number of knobs…I might have missed it, but did you take a pic of the harness? Or do you have a schematic? (or both?)
The '64 does sound pretty nice in the spare bedroom through my show rig, but I think you're correct, it probably will sound great at a show. FWIW my '76 are very much that way, only worse in the spare bedroom setting, they just want a big amp and some volume.
YES! Welcome to the ‘15 sub club! The black pickguard came today. I gotta’ say, I’m pretty impressed with the fit and finish on it.

Is that a Les Paul in your pants or are you happy to see me?
And, of course, the invisible horn section. As you know, a promotional production like this didn't need to correlate with reality in 1966!
"Is that a Les Paul in your pants, or a Stairway to Heaven?"
(...everybody - bring it!)

And a bowl of poutine.$3,000 Canadian… that’s what $12….
