Yeah, I noticed that too, also James Brown, Bobby 'Blue' Bland, Johnny Cash. I heard Dead Man's Curve today on the 60's channel, Sirius XM.

I hadn't thought of Bobby 'Blue' Bland in some time. Saw him years ago. Millie Jackson opened. He was good and all I remember about here was she had to be the filthiest woman on earth. The things she talked about were things you would see in porno movies, maybe not even there, and for no reason.

I had to really fight with myself not to buy one of the bright cherry T-Birds in 2018, I had already bought an ebony, I still wish I had gotten it though.

Maybe a good thing you didn't. Now you can buy the new vintage style Thunderbird Gibson seems to be working on. Better! Pickups will be right and in the right positions.

Now this is weird, that top 40 song list is from March 28, 1964 and as I was looking through it I saw 'Penetration' by 'The Pyramids' at #28 and put it into YouTube and found a video from the Dick Clark Show (that's what we called it) of the band and as I was watching it I noticed this: American Bandstand. March 28, 1964. I remember this song from the Ventures. No Gibsons here.

Pretty funny choreography - The Monks did a nearly bald thing (donut-hair on top of a shaved head) and wore monk robes. Bands that do schticks. Hell, we had a "shaken-not-stirred" schtick playing with Bond Girl!

can’t say enough about this combo…..killed it last night….don’t care what anyone says but there really is no replacement for a Class AB bass amp output stage. the EVO is rated at 550 Watt RMS at 4 Ohm and the MB NY 2x12 rated at 800 Watt at 4 Ohm as well so from a handling perspective, no issue. what works is that the neo speakers are of relatively low efficiency which means you hammer them pretty hard. the only advantage in using the Little Markbass 800 is an almost 20 lb difference I can live with….Class D just doesn’t cut it for the massive lows imho…

Yep - I liked it back when it was current as a pre-teen. There were a lot of "car/hot-rod" themed songs then. A carryover from the post war '50s when shopping malls & suburbs boomed and teens built and drove hot-rods.

I'm not real familiar with her, she sounds pretty good though.

Clean stage setup, very classy. I like the whole thing, tuxes, curtain, girl , etc. I have a '96 Jazz that looks a lot like yours, it's antique white (yellow really, which i like) with a white pickguard.

Thanks! We played up the show-biz angle for fun. That performance was at a cool SF club that was owned for years by Boz Scaggs called "Slims" (his nick-name) which he closed before Covid and recently has changed hands and I don't know what goes on there now. I saw/heard so many great shows/bands there over the years and was very fortunate to play there before it closed.

My band The Sean Conneries (spin-off of BG) don't enforce a "dress code"

I also like the 70s B-15N's with the tone switches, I bought a brand new left over right around 1980 but stupidly sold it. I have a B15S and a B-18 now though. Again, nice clean stage setup.

Not sure if this is old news or not, but I thought I’d pass along that the price for black pickguards with gold birds has dropped dramatically over the past month or so. I used to see them on eBay and Reverb for $70+ all the time. They are now in the $20-30 range. They’re still coming out of China and have a long lead time, but that’s a huge price cut! Ordered mine yesterday for my 2015 Gibby.

The black pickguard came today. I gotta’ say, I’m pretty impressed with the fit and finish on it.
