Thunderbird Club

You'll be busy. My buddy's GTI has left him stranded twice in two months. Lol

Loll, perhaps. I know i've worked on two VW one passat the other's a beetle. Beetle had brakes to do which took us a whole day (pretty complicated procedure when you're used to chevys and fords.) The passat was a radiator thermostat problem which took us 1 1/2 day, to figure out but we had to let a new class of students do it. Took them a week.

I'm in the process of ungothing my goth Thunderbird, pickguard included. I much prefer the classic Thunderbird instead of the rather plain cross but I'm having a bit of a problem getting the one I ordered from x-axe-decal-x delivered. After getting sent a Firebird decal by mistake and being told that they were sending out the right one, three messages sent via ebay were ignored. Then, after sending a message simply asking if they were still in business I received a prompt reply informing me that they were. So, I sent a new message asking when I could expect the red Thunderbird decal I'd paid for…no response.
I've already added a set of DR Red Devils, red-capped control knobs, and the white edging around the pickguard and trussrod cover is now red but I definitely need that red T-bird!

That's pretty annoying... :(

This is actually an interesting point, considering how many in this club actually plays Blackbirds with blatantly nazi inspired iron cross fret markers... :)

I don't see anybody get flamed for posting pictures of their nazi birds... ;)

And I just happened to like a guys t-shirt - Now, where's the irony in that? ;)
The iron cross pre-dates the Nazi regime, and even WW1. It's been the symbol for the German army going well back into the Ottoman era or earlier.

Yeah, right... You just couldn't let it rest, could you...?

The german eagle has been a german symbol for centuries, and the swastika logo is an old hindu symbol reaching back to the antiquity... So there you go... ;)

I adore the country which is Germany, I dream to visit one day

And so you should, Liam... I can totally recommend going to Bavaria (Southern Germany) at the foothills of the alps, the nature is absolutely stunning there - And while there, visit the castles of King Ludwig II and drink lots of weissbier, while you're at it... :)

Also while there, take a visit to the Thomann Music Store, which is musical Nirvana... But remember to bring lots of pocketmoney! :)

One day Hillerup, one day...

Geez... Get over it, it's been over 50 years now...

Everybody that lived back then are more or less dead now.

And we've had several regimes since who have been equally horrendous...

While I'm not offended by the logo, I do worry about the "it was a long time ago, get over it" attitude. As George Santayana said ""Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it". We should never downplay things just because they happened a long time ago.
