Thunderbird Club

My dream car would be a big GM car of the 60's, a 1956 Cadillac Coupe Deville would be among them.

I've not heard that. I've only seen that because of the words of SHA, didn't mean he was a NY hater. I liked Cinnamon Girl and used to play in in a band, other than that I never liked his music or him. I like a lot of the CSN catalogue, but without the Y! I really like the vocals, that's why NY didn't help!
I think the whole LS-NY thing was intentionally overblown for the sake of publicity.

I'm pretty sure Perry drove one of those! I would like one of these - sporty but with cargo space to transport a bass and amp! :bassist:

Don't get me going on cars . '65 GTO 4 speed positraction 389 tripower, '66 440 Plymouth GTX on and on and on.......

Incidentally this is the Beach Boys playing not the Wrecking Crew.

My understanding of their recordings was that the Wrecking Crew would lay down things-perfectly-that the BB's could, at least, come close to playing live.

They played on their first seven albums, Brian Wilson realized that the stuff he was beginning to write was beyond their capabilities so he started hiring the Wrecking Crew. They actually didn't really start using them a lot until 'The Beach Boys Today' 1965, which was their 8th album and was a big step, great album.
People think that they couldn't play, that's not true. The Wrecking Crew actually copied the Beach Boys sound and played just WAY better, Hal Blaine could do a perfect Dennis Wilson drum part perfectly, something he would have done rather, then they played it like that live. This was during about a 3 or 4 year period during the mid to late 60's, they started playing on their own albums again '68 or '69. These dates are of course fuzzy.
