After several years of playing light-weight Epifani cabinets (which I still have, play and love), and SMPS heads of various kinds (which I still have, play and love), I'm having a GREAT time playing my favorite big room rig - Thunderfunk TFB750-A into Mesa Boogie Powerhouse 1000.

Until I played this rig, I didn't realize how much focus and clarity my 5 string basses have down low! I love the fact that I can push my E and B strings and, instead of speaker cabinet compression, I get back as much attack as I'm putting into the bass. I never seem to run out of headroom!

The TFB750-A is really powerful for an amp of that size and weight. On the other hand, the Powerhouse cabinet isn't the easiest cabinet to move -- and I'm not young anymore. But what a sound! This sound is the reason I love playing bass!

I can definately say at some point I'll have a TF750.

There are not many amps on the Red Planet to have list but this is one of them. Though for me now I definately will not be getting rid of anything to have one so it may be a while (when the cash cow shows up):D. The M2 and PLX2 1804 is certainly getting the job done but I could see how the TF750 could be a very simillar Rig with a little less Power and just a smidge less weight. I can see how the 750 could be my normal Rig, my M2/1804 could be my Big Rig, and something like a MB TA501 with just one of my NEO Cabs could be my Small Rig.

For now I'll just have to settle for one Rig and dream of having others. Having a Wife and Kids with different Prioritys kinda puts a damper on the GAS Meter. :D

I used to have a freakin wall of Guitar and Bass Amps. Now I'm down to one Bass Rig, one Guitar Rig, two Guitars, and two Basses. Though my Wife still thinks I have too much. :eyebrow::D

Greg I can see how that head would sound good with that Mesa Cab but man how difficult it would be to move. My back hurts just thinking about it. :crying:

I am as of a few weeks ago a very happy T-funk 750 owner! It will take me some time it seems to test and find my ideal cabinet(s) to match with it, but meanwhile it's rocking my peavey 4x10 with such savvy that i'm in no hurry to spend money I don't have. But I also cannot wait to pair it with it's match in drivers....

I know i'll be playing and enjoying this amp for a long, long time. I kept it pretty much flat for the first couple of weeks, and recently have begun to experiment with the eq and other controls. I'm able to bring my fretless out of the band mix so well that I get lots of compliments on it's sound. I just got my P-bass back and it's proving to be a great match too. I can get just about any sound I can dream up with at this point, and the foundational tone and presence of this amp is beautiful. Oh, and it is plenty loud. I keep the gain at 3-5 and the master at 4-6, anything else is too much for rehearsal. I can't wait to test it in some live situations.

Thanks Dave for making such a fine amp! I would not have heard about it or purchased it if it were not for all the glowing praise on this forum. So take heart and don't sweat any random negativity too much. Your product speaks for itself and will continue to.

I'm a proud owner now. Is this a club? :)
