There's plenty of small villages to replenish his reserves. The longest stretch I saw on my hikes has been 100 wild miles. That's 6-7 days at a moderate pace, and one can pack this much food without any problem.

I'm in richmond until then, doing F.I.N.A.L.S. and crashing at a friend's house. I meant to take pictures this morning, but since I've been lax in my caffiene intake, I was all tired and forgot. Sounds good, I'm off to my US History final in a matter of minutes. IMO, you're missing one valuable piece of equipment. It's manufactured by a company called Taurus and it's exceptional at dealing with creatures of 2- and 4-legged variety.
