Raybird overhaul: The scars left from the various pickups were making her look kinda janky. So I planed off the top and re-capped her, with inspiration from @Shedua511 and his awesome Grove build.

The DarkStar is a Hammon from the TB Classifieds, routed through a John East BTB-01, my favorite two-band pre! The combination just roars!

Conundrum: I absolutely never play these, simply because they’re way too heavy. I’m thinking I’ll harvest the organs parts and torch the bodies.

How thick are the bodies?

The Pentabird is 1.75”, the Octobird is 1.5”. Might be worth planing them both down to 1.25”, along with some chambering...

Yeah that's where I was going. I'm pretty much sticking to 1.25" these days. It doesn't seem like much but going from 1.5 to 1.25 is eliminating 16% of the weight of the body. From 1.75 to 1.25 is shedding about 28%
