To be clear, I find the mids a bit much on my precision bass; they are perfect on my Jazz bass, probably due to the inherently scooped tone of that instrument. I don't need any EQ tweaks to make the jazz sound great, whereas the precision needs a bit of a reduction in the meds.Is anyone else wanting to scoop out a little bit of the mids of their TI's? And if so what frequency(frequencies?) Are you scooping?
I love my TI's but whenever I do any fill utilizing the d, g strings it just has a bit to much honk.
I actually used my SAPEQ2 and scooped out a little at 600 and 1k and I'm liking it. Might have to hear a recording of our next service and see if that's the culprit. To be clear, I find the mids a bit much on my precision bass; they are perfect on my Jazz bass, probably due to the inherently scooped tone of that instrument. Unfortunately I don't have a recording setup at my place.Unique bass ,
If can, share some clip of your ACG bass with Ti flat loaded.

If I remember to do so tomorrow I will measure the ones on my fretless Martin Keith Elfin 5.Could someone who uses TI Jazz Flat JF345 tell me definitively what the winding length distance is from ball to start of the taper silk.
Likewise if anyone uses the Super Long scale set JF365, what is the winding length ball to start of taper silk. Read conflicting stats about the winding lengths and figure someone using these sets can nail it down. Cheers
Thanks for thatIf I remember to do so tomorrow I will measure the ones on my fretless Martin Keith Elfin 5.
So what is the distance from the ball end at the the tailpiece to the beginning of the silk on the B and E strings? The JF346 set has the same B-G strings as the JF345 set. On my 34" bass, I was worried about the silk possibly not clearing the nut, because the tail piece sits about an inch further behind the bridge than normal, bringing the silks closer to the nut. Turns out the B and E strings have the silk somewhat closer to the nut than the rest, but no problems there.

I've measured it on the B-string, but not mounted, and including the ball end, and so the silks start at 94 cm = 37". The ball end takes up 0,5 cm. On the E-string it's 2 mm shorter. (Ignoring the ball-end silks, obviously.)So what is the distance from the ball end at the the tailpiece to the beginning of the silk on the B and E strings?
Thanks for taking the time . So it looks like the winding length is 37" for the JF34.. setsI've measured it on the B-string, but not mounted, and including the ball end, and so the silks start at 94 cm = 37". On the B and E strings, yes. The rest have somewhat shorter silks. Thanks for taking the time . So it looks like the winding length is 37" for the JF34.. sets
The 37" accords with the stats in the sticky, which I've read before. Now for the JF365 winding length Bass String Lengths by ManufacturerOn the B and E strings, yes. The rest have somewhat shorter silks.
Thanks Jeff for stats.B - 37"
E - 36 7/8"
A - 37 1/2"
D - 37 1/2"
G - 37 1/4"
Nope. I don't have any basses longer than 34.5" SL.Thanks Jeff for stats.
Any experience with the Super Long sets JF364 and 365?
