Why does TI factory ship with these with such different packaging?

I think it's the difference between domestic and international I can't recall the answer is embedded somewhere in this forum but there is no difference between the sets.

The pic on Amazon is the blue package, but I received the yellow placard on mine. Similar to what Sweetwater sells.

As with any flat, give them a month or more to settle and mellow. They will thicken up and get better with age. Many seem to give up before the strings settle and do what they do. And as mentioned, they will last a decade or more. If you don't like them on X bass, hand onto them and try them on something else down the road.

I truly can't recall the difference in where they are marketed to but the important thing is they aren't different so help yourself to the less expensive option because it's only packaging.

As an aside TI flats and the rounds, in particular, are the only strings I've felt didn't need a break in period. Seriously, right out of the gate they sounded right in both instances, which I thought was more amazing in the case of the rounds because previously it always takes about 3 weeks for strings to break in for me. I've never encountered a string that was so satisfying right out of the packaging. In fact I started stringing my guitars with their strings too because I liked their bass string so much, and I've been happy there as well.

curious how these will fare from my beloved Sunbeams and EB Cobalt flats.

EB Cobalt flats growl with some low mids, great flexibility and modern sounding in my opinion.
TI Jazz flats are singing almost lyrically, balanced overall with some high end and very low tension unlike other flats.
They both are my top choices. Demos and comparisons in youtube are very accurate in this subject too

BTW, looks like Amazon is back to 67 a set, so I guess it pays to keep an eye out and grab some when the price dips.
