`tic'when touching strings?

ok,my SX J with a Gotoh bridge and DiMarzio pup mods has arrived via Fedex,i'm quite happy with the purchase adding a new dimensional pal to my mexi p with half rounds and fretless j with chromes the girl is Bright,probably keep rounds on this one*verifying that i been using same equipment without this issue until i plug in this bass*

so i jump on my combo amp here and when i touch the strings i'm getting a 'pop' or tic',just strait up clean power down low test run for buzzy frets deal,no pedals,what is causing this? ungrounded bridge

scares me reminds me of getting shocked in 65 in a garage with my teisco and silvertone amp,bass looks pristine aside from the aformentioned mods,ok that's the dime store novel

Probably an ungrounded bridge. Of course you don't have to ground to the bridge. Just take a piece of aluminum (even aluminum tape or something) put it in the cavity, and attatch a ground wire to it.

ok thank you,the ebay seller admitted he hadn't hardly used it in 4 years (and it looks like it),i guess it's a great way to get aquainted with my new girlfriend on a saturday night by stripping her down for inspection
