He has homemade distortion. Two dunlop 105Q bass wahs that are connected by a plank of wood. Aphex Punch factory I know in Audioslave not sure if that's in RATM.
He has more effects as well. Those are the ones I know of.
Mods his amps and tells no one what he's done with them. He uses ash bodied J style basses Fender and recently switched to Lakland. The first RATM record was done with a Stingray. One of his basses had pickups that he hand wound. That bass was smashed. He kept the pickups not sure what was done with them.
