I don't know, but there is an interview with him over at Scott's Bass Lessons that I will find, listen to and report back if he mentions it. He plays a Moollon P bass and loves effects.

Absolutely ridonkulous bassist. One of my favourites. His signature 3Leaf Octave is amazing as well. His use of effects is so inventive and unique.

I recently went to a Tedeschi-Trucks show, and TL was on bass. I thought he was way too busy, and that his excessive note playing detracted from the groove. And his tone was super-muddy, although I admit the venue has acoustic problems and he has no control over the FOH. Sorry TL fans....
Word on the street is that he was using DR Legends and recently tried out the new Dunlop flats and dug them. I don't remember where I heard that, some interview on the web (video). Maybe the Pedals and Effects interview where he talked Blackstar... Great player
I just got a set of them last week and I'm raving pretty hard over them, too. They start out pretty ringy but they're mellowing out really nicely now and getting some really good thump. Very smooth and not sticky at all like a lot of flats when they're new, very low tension for flats but not spongy like TI's
I gave up flats for live work because everyone in the band with an opinion preferred rounds, but I may start bringing this bass to use on a few songs and see how it goes.

Amazing work by Tim here, where he seems to me to be playing some Flats, but I may be wrong.
I've been listening to a lot Tim's TTB work as I've been chipping away at the past year's Covid induced rust. And his work on recordings and live with the Tedeschi Trucks Band has been really inspiring. His work there is a study in knowing how to occupy your particular sonic space in a really big band, and his groove really worked in that setting.
I was supposed to see him last summer on The Black Crowes tour celebrating the 30th Anniversary of "Shake your money maker"... until the tour got canceled. But now I've got tickets to see that tour this summer, and I'm hoping that Tim will be with them this summer! It's going to be my first opportunity to hear him play in person.
