Time to buy my first big amp =), HELP ME!

Alright so me and a few friends are going to make a band and I now need an amp that will be loud enough to play with a band and I have found a few used amps that seem great. NOTE: I'm only 15 and yes, im on a budget. I believe the Hartke is $550 originally, if you think other wise please say.

EDIT: If you think I should get something different please list, it does not have to be Combo Amp. It can be a Bass Cab and Amp head. MUST BE $400 and under.
Question: Would a 2X10 250w be loud enough to play with a band?

Look at the Acoustic 200. It's only $250 for the head, or $350 for a combo unit, and sounds really good IMO. For the money I think it would suit you well on your budget better than just about anything.

I love Gallien Krueger amps. These backlines are GREAT combos for the money. I got the Backline 210 (200 watts) for around $400 new.

Zzounds is selling a new Ampeg B-200R for $279. 200 watts, tube preamp, blows everything else away at that price point. If I needed a combo, I'd have bought one already.

My recomendation is the Acoustic B100 or Acoustic B200, both are AMAZING and you can hook up another speaker so you can do some real loud stuff! So I say other, btw, Fender Rumble 100W is not good at all, distortion and hiss.

Acoustic has a 4x10 and a separate head as a package for around $400, but it's not a combo amp. And from what I've seen, the head looks pretty good for a bundle package. Check that out.

I dont know much about amps in that price range, but I'm just going to say for the money you can do way better then the rumble 100.

i've never had distortion or hiss with my rumble 100... unless i put a distortion box in front of it.

I've owned the Ampeg BA210SP for 2 years now and I like it a lot. It may not be enough power to play in a big space, but it really cranks. I like the built in effects also. The price at ZSounds is a great price! I paid about $580. for it brand new 2 years ago! It sits right next to 2 other bigger Ampeg amps. I like em.

Look at the used market for a nice fat 1x15 bin, then look for a head in the 200-250 watt range. You can get a good used Peavey bass head and cab for $200-300. Sometimes even better than that. Not fond of the Fender Rumble 100. The guy that has the practice space I play at has one. It's distorted when trying to play over a loud drummer, and I bring my MarkBass LMII and 1x15 because I don't like the Fender.
Picked up one of these Peavey combo's for my friend at a cost of $250. He really likes it.

...find something used if you want bang for the buck...don't be afraid to haggle with stores on their used stuff, money's tight now, cash talks very loud...

...the hartke (used) you mention is on ebay, starting bid $250 & free shipping (better be sure he packs great, though)...but you'd need him to get pics of the actual unit to you, he's using a stock pic (which is a red flag for me, but with pics you'd know one way or the other)...

I have a Peavey TNT 130 and it just wont quit. I'm not the first owner and its about as old as I am. its a 1x15. I dont belive they make 130's anymore but the 115 or TKO 115 would be great and last a long time. Their a good brand. Might pay alittle more like you would a Fender but I'd take Peavey any day for a combo amp.
