I'd bought mine new in London in the mid 80s. I moved to the USA in 1990, and about 1993 I had one of the bridge saddle tuners strip out. Took it to a local guitar shop, who called Hohner.I have a Hohner B2V, a Steinberger copy from the same era as the Jack Bass. Yes, I agree with ThudThudThud -- these are KILLER instruments! I've had mine since the early 90s and it continues to impress!
Within a week, without any fuss, I received a new tuner with a note saying, "Sorry. That should never have happened." That's great service.
I miss that bass a lot. Convenient, stable (rarely went out of tune more than a cent), and the action was insanely low.
