The food was for me and the wife... I don't drink when I'm working... those two were hers.just cause you eat 2 full meals like a psycho and get drinks for the entire band doesn't mean everyone wastes their cash.
Have had a tip jar out with most bands I've been in. It's always nice to have the slight bump in cash. We usually don't split it out but once a month. Never had anyone take it around like that though. I like that a LOT!Last night's gig was at a local joint, holds approx. 45 people. Pay $80 per man.
We had a good turn out and patrons stayed with compliments about
the band. So we remind them that tips are very much appreciated.
I have never worked with a band that puts out a tip jar.
A happy... patron grabs the jar and walks the crowd.
We totaled it out at the end and had $172 to split 4 ways. At $43 each that was
more than half our pay. Some nights we make $2.00 each but at the end of a year
it does add up. Don't overlook putting one up. We work the service industry just like the others.
Then you can't count that as personal expenses. that's date night and it only cost 24 bucks.....The food was for me and the wife... I don't drink when I'm working... those two were hers.![]()
That always sells...It always gets more tips if someone walks it thru the crowd. Put a cute girl with it and watch it grow
