I understand where you're coming from; I'm down to one bass now and I'm loving it. Now I never need to worry about what basses I'm not using.

You're in my backyard; If you don't need the bass, you can drop it by my place and I'll take it off your hands. :D

Thanks for all the good advice everyone. I have decided that this is no longer the bass for me and it will be sold. I'm waiting to hear back from someone who is local before I put up a thread in the classifieds. But if you want to 'get in line' (:p) feel free to PM me. I want this bass to go to a good home! :)

As someone selling another custom-made Stambaugh for similar (though different reasons) I feel your pain. A great bass deserves to be played and if it's not happening (and you don't foresee that changing) for whatever reason, it's sometimes best to let it go.

Hard though....:bawl:

Dang, if I weren't dropping a deposit on a Rob Allen MB2 6 string, I'd be all over this one. Oh well, Chris and I were kinda talking about a 33" scale 6 like this with a Pope pre later on.

Hasn't sold yet...It's in the classifieds now. I'm asking $2800 shipped and insured. A little less than what I paid for it originally. And Chris' prices have gone up since then! Hell, he could raise prices even more and it would still be well worth it :D

wow, i can't believe i missed this. take a few weeks off from TB and look what happens. Just as well though. The wife and I are buckling down looking to buy a house and I don't think a new bass would get the smiles on her face the way they would on mine. That bass has always been a fav of mine on this board (and we even toyed with an Acacia/Stammy swap at one point).

My $.02 is hang onto those basses unless you need to funds. I have 5 nice basses that I constantly rotate between. Some get more attention than others, but I find that there is no way to re-inspire my playing than grabbing a bass that hasn't been seeing enough action lately. Each bass brings out different things in the way you play (at least for me) and a great way to get over a hump in my playing is to start playing a different bass more often than others. Lately, I've been really diggin the simplicity of my CT no frills (4 strings, passive electronics, one volume, one tone...fits like a glove) mixing in the Morch 6 (since that's the VIP)...but every now and then I'll bring out my fretless to a jam and it totally changes the way I approach the bass and kick starts my playing.

I hope this bass stayed in the TB community...if so, please keep me in the back of your head if this bass goes back on the for sale (of for trade) block.
